Just what we didn't need, apparently Rachel Reeves will be announcing in the budget that they won't be giving discounts for heat pumps. That means we'd have to find another over 10k to meet our planning permission requirements.
We're already looking at moving in without a kitchen as we simply can't afford one. If we have to find money for a heat pump to even be legally permitted to have this house then we are f*cked.
I am absolutely fuming.

Would you consider a second hand kitchen? There are often some going free or very cheap on FB marketplace. A friend of mine found one, only a few years old that came with the white goods too. Completely free, although my friend insisted on giving them something.PennysIntoPounds said:Just what we didn't need, apparently Rachel Reeves will be announcing in the budget that they won't be giving discounts for heat pumps. I would wait until the actual budget. There are a couple of newspapers that have been printing articles as if they know what is going to happen & if they were all true we would be paying over 100% of our income in tax. All designed to wind people up.1

That's an idea @kayannie, thanks, I'll bear it in mind
You're right of course @badmemory, I'm just feeling like we get constantly kicked from all directions for having such ridiculous aspirations like 'a home'.
Will try to get a grip and woman-up, but not today, too tired2 -
Definitely try not to worry to much about the budget until it actually happens - not only do the media seem to be suggesting all sorts of things with little foundation, even she doesn’t seem to be able to make up her mind at the moment!Delighted to see there are some right-minded people here relating to views of filthy marzipan.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I totally sympathise with the anxiety about the budget. The ‘trails’ of what R from accounts is going to do seems to have been going on for months! 🙄 I’m absolutely fed up with it. TBH, I’m trying to mostly ignore it …
Hoping you have a nice time with friends tonight and that’s an effective distraction and mind clearer that will allow a good night’s sleep, as it sounds like you need it. Hugs x
