Your £19. 46 is a start. You know the saying from the Chinese philosopher Tao Te Ching "every journey starts with a single step or in MSE parlance every saving starts with a small amount.

I take 'starve a fever, feed a cold' very seriously @WelshmansDaughter nom nom nom

Thank you for your excellent medical advice @foxgloves @beanielou @Blackcats

Thanks @ladyholly, though that has now gone out the window and I have to rejig the Aim again 😭

Apparently relative can't lend us as much as he thought so while we still owe him an unfortunate f*ckton of money, we're back in a position of top level panic and stress as to how to pay for the essentials we're committed to.
Fortunately I cannot be bothered to panic and have minimal levels of bother available to stress, so we shall have to see what we shall see.

If we have to abandon build with no interiors until we can afford them that will be extremely awkward but I doubt builders will take us to court over it as long as we pay the build foundation stages, so we need £711.87 and all of Mr PIP's life savings and all our flat related pots to pay for penultimate stage, then we need £8850.
We then need approx 80k, but we'll worry about that when we come to it.
Oh and we'll also need an eye-watering amount to pay relative back but we're hoping at some point this mortgage will occur!

    Aim: £711.87
    Got: f all

Hope all the people and everyone's animals are doing alright on this loud night x

A rather grumpy day here, as my Microsoft Office that I bought a month ago has decided it no longer works. So now I have to find money to buy that again.

And we have done all the sums we can and simply cannot afford the build.

    Survey cashout
    Aim: £711.87
    Got £4

While we need all the money we can get, I have somewhat counterintuitively opened a North London pot and put a couple of quid in there, because f*ck you the build 🥂

I'm sorry that it's been a miserable day PIP

Are you waiting to be allowed to drawdown a mortgage for the house?

We are @Blackcats. Just had another 4k bill added this evening to the list of things we can't afford, f*cking heat pump.
I'm going to have to contact the lenders tomorrow and ask if there's some way they can delay the outstanding legal things as otherwise we're just going to have to tell the builders to cease work soon

Sorry you've had a grumpy day of build stress, plus tech stress. One or the other is enough, but both?!
Positive vibes for the mortgage drawdown happening sooner rather than later
If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I don't know what 'mortgage drawdown' is, but I hope today is a better day for you PiP & the house build is able to continue. It really does sound like a hugely complicated worry-inducing process. Sending positive thoughts.
