Well to be fair, I got through 40+ years before I heard of it! 😊 Only learned about it when I tried to be vegan and was issuing Worcester sauce.

I think the debauchery would be good while it lasted but the metaphorical (& actual) morning after would be grim!
2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
    2) To read 100 books (36/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg

  • Very true @foxgloves and I wouldn't actually be that irresponsible but it's nice to briefly daydream about all the ways one can give two fingers up to the expensive powers that be.
I mean, 2k because they want the kerb that has nothing to do with us fixed and know there's nothing in the world we can do about it other than pay.
Give me strength (and debauchery 😁)

Another money making scam from the council.  It will be one heck of a fancy kerb for £2000!  Talk about the streets of London being paved with gold.

Walk, found 20p. McMo tokens are very thin on the ground!

Went on a listings rampage, always still more to do though

Today's build admin highlight was finding out we need to pay £695 for indemnity insurance because someone told their buyer in 1901 they couldn't build more than one house there 🙄

I would be demanding written proof of something that happened 114 years ago & evidence from the person who signed it!!!!!!!!!  Alternatively you could build just one house with 2 kitchens etc that just has one ground level door that adjoins them.  This could even save you some council tax.  They really are trying very hard to ramp up the charges aren't they.
  • Ha @badmemory we had considered all 'living in one big house that happens to have two front doors and a massive wall in the middle' but don't think we could get away with it now the plot has been split on the land registry title deeds.
I asked the solicitor why, if the titles have been split, we're in breach if we are only building one house on our lot, and she has pointed out that there's also a clause saying we need the vendor's permission for any works.
I am in a play dumb mood (tbf not much pretending happening, I have no idea what any of this means in law) so have asked her if we can't just get the vendors permission and if we can't because he's from over 100 years ago then who is it we're indemnifying ourselves against.
I expect we'll just have to pay it like we just have to pay everything that makes zero sense, but it's good for the soul to at least be awkward in the face of powerlessness
