At least there is some kind of upside to the lender’s intrusiveness - they can suddenly function!Ya wanna be careful PiP - if you keep on with getting your head around all these building and technical terms, you’ll end up being the guru of self build on a u-toob channel somewhere … ! 😉
(If they are actual building terms, rather than terms associated with the legalese or admin of the process, Mr KK might be able to help.)

Cheers @doingitanyway, it won't be a huge cause for celebration as they still won't release any money until the land registry has done its thing, but at least the offer will help expedite that. But I think we're allowed a small celebration what with the stress we're under with this build!
Ha thanks @KajiKita, I think the chances of me being the guru of anything other than collapsing on the sofa with a beer and a glazed look in my eyes are very low!
Cheers me dear, that might be helpful. Though I suspect it'll be more work than I would inflict on Mr KK as I think the problem is that I don't understand enough to ask the right questions.
What I really need is a surveyor or project manager who can take the three different strands, compare them to the builder's stages, and tell me when I need to alert any of the other strands. Unfortunately we can't afford a project manager and it would be insulting to a box of frogs to compare them to how mad the surveyor is0 -
I did do a bit of investigating re your mortgage lender. As far as I can see they can enquire about disabilities but only as far as it may impact your ability to pay. Dont take my word for it but that was the impression I got.0
-
I totally agree with Ladyholly - there can be no other reason for enquiry. Their focus should only be on the likelihood of them being paid.0
-
Thanks @ladyholly and @badmemory
I agree, from my own brief search it looks like they've disregarded quite a few bits of the disability discrimination act as well as some bits of data protection and some bits of professional conduct standards, but I will need to get to a place of greater safety before I start really p*ssing them off
Also reminds me that I must read Hilary Mantel's A Place of Greater Safety sometime soon.
Sad to hear about Ozzy Osbourne's death. Rest in peace mate, thanks for being an absolute legend on so many levels 🍻2 -
They should not need any discrimination act to tell them that they were out of order.1
-
Indeed @badmemory, it's all in the back pocket for when I feel safe enough to raise it. Bang out of order, and I have all the emails from the broker company agreeing.
Tonight however I will be hoping to dream sweet dreams having watched the England Women's football team get into the final of the Euros, very proud of them 🥂
Inspirational stuff even for unsporty types like me. Keep going, dig deeper when the goal feels unlikely, wait for the change and the opportunity. Very MSE!0
