    Usuals
Christmas decorations down and put away
Helped mum take her tree down and put decorations away

Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning a 1.5k sainsers voucher

Very soggy walk recycling old shoes, picking up mum's birthday gift, and getting essentials in

Mr PIP and I have prepped potato croquettes for dinner to use up a bag of spuds that was looking a bit resentful. I'm not ready for any more roasted anything after Christmas yet, so we're having 'oven sautéed' veg, entirely different 😂

I’m so annoyed at the council on your behalf. Why are they being like this, is there a valid reason?

Nope @Sun_Addict, they just don't seem to have to answer to anyone. They largely ignored the ward councillor, they blatantly lied to the MP, and they sent a delayed, begrudging, and unhelpful response when asked to reply to us by the Chief Exec's office. Like I've said before, it would suit their developer colleagues very nicely if we had to sell the land and it would suit the council very nicely as they could stick up an unsuitable high rise and say 'look how many homes we've provided aren't we great'.

Do you still have a solicitor? Surely the fear of legal action and costs would get them to move. I would get back to the MP and ward councillor. If you dont let things drop they will have to carry on for you. Have you been to the papers?

The ball is currently in our court @Karonher as for one of the outstanding consents we have to get the pre-build works done for the council to then (not) sign off on, which obviously comes with its own costs, delays, and stresses, but we figured we might as well get it ready for building in case a miracle occurs and we can build/in case we have to sell the plot as it'll be worth a wee bit more, would have been better to have done it sooner but we had to wait six months for the council to press 'send' on the last consent to be able to proceed.
Don't think legal action would be a goer anyway as they haven't 'technically' done anything legally wrong, and at this stage where we're worried about being able to afford anywhere to live, we don't have the spare funds to get involved in consulting solicitors let alone getting involved in legal proceedings with a societal authority!

Sorry that it is at this stage. Hope it can be sorted.

Chippie tea is a great idea.  We are having a Chinese takeaway because it is a Monday in January and we are on our holibobs (and it's budgeted for in holiday spends 😇)

I watched another episode of Grand Designs last night and as usual found myself wondering why people want to build such big houses?  This episode also made me wonder how the heck you can get planning permission to build a massive modern extension to a Gothic style cemetery lodge house in South West London (building classified as being of special merit).  Extension included a basement excavated right up to the boundary of the cemetery and included a must have swimming pool.  I am still wondering how the flipping heck a budget of £1,8m for the purchase and £1.8m for renovations can then go overspent by another £1m. 🥴

It made me think yet again how completely unfair and wrong your current situation is!

I expect people with that much money have enough spare to, cough, help ensure things run more smoothly @Blackcats! Not sure I'd want to dig a swimming pool next to a cemetery, it'd give you a right shock when you thought 'who's this b*gger going slowly in my lane' then remembered you were in your own private pool.. 👀

    Ouchie but hopefully helpful @beanielou
