You probably burnt double calories doing that @South_coast so no problem getting another one in 😁
I personally do not mind extra podge at this time of year. It is dark when you wake up then it's dark again by four. Every fibre of my being is telling me I should have been asleep for the last few months and should be asleep for the next few. It is cold. It is perilous. Sod not having the baileys of an evening, and new year diets and dry January can absolutely get in the bin as well!2 -
Lol at all you dark haters.
thankfully I haven’t seen a creme egg. I have seen pastries, frosty fancies and iced fruit cake. And by seen I mean I ate them. Not all in one go but some days it was close0 -
The advent jewellery outings are making me smile. It’s not something I have ever heard of someone doing before 😊
I’ve asked Mr KK for a sonic jewellery cleaner this Christmas as many of my pieces need a good clean. I think Christmas Day will be quite funny as I will be holed up in the dining room cleaning and Mr KK will be in the garage sharpening drill bits (his present request! 😉).

I like the dark @WelshmansDaughter, I just feel that it should take place at night
Managed to resist buying about ten different types of Christmas confectionery yesterday. Might cave and get a panettone today
I came up with it last year @KajiKita in response to being jealous of all my friends, even the ones who claim to have no money, having amazing beauty and beer and posh chocolate advent calendars. And it turned out to be not just a way of having an advent of 'newish to me shopped from home' pieces, but also rather good for the soul, and a good opportunity for a non pressurised mini sort out, with the potential to end up with a bit or two to sell as a bonus.
That sounds like a great Christmas day. Don't forget to get any batteries that may be required!2 -
@PennysIntoPounds - It's such a good, sustainable idea re the jewellery. It's really making me want to turn out my jewellery box, give everything a good sort through, mend & clean & see if I can shop some 'new' (as in forgotten about) bits & pieces from home.

You already know I'm thoroughly bought in to the "wear the jewellery" idea - it's really lovely to get things out that just normally don't see the light of day!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Get involved @foxgloves! If you're fancying a sort out session then absolutely do, so satisfying 😊
But the great thing about jewellery advent is that it doesn't turn into 'a big job' that gets put off- a quick rummage through all your jewellery sections for (from today) 20 pieces that you don't usually wear and you're done. The brilliant bit is you only have to make one choice as to what to wear a day so any more complex decisions about cleaning, mending, or styling can be put off until you're in the mood or have run out of your other advent bits to wear 😁

Agree, @EH. I am wondering if I could extend it to random accessories too. OK, my long black lace opera gloves may be a little OTT for putting the bins out, but surely there is a role for them somewhere, even though I no longer sing! Maybe my clip-on purple rose could adorn my hair on Christmas Day, who knows?! And why do I no longer wear my glitter tights? This is all food for thought for this shopper from home!

I'm so pleased you're enjoying it @EssexHebridean!
Today's choice for me is a string of lovely blue tinted freshwater pearls. No idea why I never wear them, and now I am! And while I think of this necklace being more of a summer piece, it actually looks stunning against my black layered tops, so a good lesson learnt

Absolutely involve accessories too @foxgloves. Tis the season to wear things that seem OTT the rest of the year! And if bin time needs glamming up, then so be it2
