What a stormy old day. I think we would have been well within our rights to do nothing but hunker, but we've been chipping away at the to-do lists.
Today's advent jewellery is a metal chain t-bar bracelet that I have no idea where it came from. I kind of like it but it also looks kind of cheap (and not in a carefree obvious way). Turns out it looks much better on so that's another advent win
MSE highlights were dropping off a vinted sale, entering some competitions by post, and doing a few listings.
Definitely up for a hunker down now though! Hope everyone's keeping safe x

Ooh btw, if anyone does Norstat wot used to be panelbase surveys, they're doing an advent of bonus stars on the homepage. No idea what the stars are ever useful for, but no harm in having a quick click in case it ever turns into a Brucie Bonus.
They didn't send an email saying they were doing it, I only found out late to the party by accidentally scrolling down1 -
Extra achey today and it was dire weather again so did very little, but while wearing a beautiful silver necklace that is a winter twig design

That necklace sounds beautiful 🤩
I do stealth wrapping too. All of Mr KK’s presents are already wrapped, apart from the one that hasn’t arrived yet 😊
The wind is finally easing here. Hopefully it will for you later this evening - think it’s moving east from us …

I really like thinking of PIP's Advent Tuppence Club sparkling our way through this dark and stormy Advent.Sounds like we have all got lots of nice things to chose from - sparkly jumpers, opera gloves and a jewellery selection to rival the Wallis Simpson collection.3

You should definitely start a thread for the advent thing next year - after all, it’s more fun than my December pay trap one, and that seems to have taken off over the years!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

All this advent jewellery release glamour is fabulous 🙂
I must admit I’m enjoying my Get Fit With Rick advent challenge far more than previous years gin/wine/beauty calendars. Most of my present wrapping consists of me shoving something in a gift bag and popping a bit of tissue paper over it - job done 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3 -

Famber03 said:I must be one of a kind, if I buy food for Xmas, no matter what it is, sweets, chocolate, cakes etc, then I don’t touch it till Xmas. Tho once Xmas is here, that’s a different matter all together. Food fest begins.xx
Who are you wonderwomen with super natural powers?! Wish this was me and the budget /gift status stopped me from eating the food gift goodies..
Sadly even if I have marked food gifts in my YNAB budget as gifts for others - they may get snaffled - the only way to stop it is to buy food with gluten in as I wont touch it, everything else has no chance. It might last a few weeks (especially if its dairy as I know I wont feel great the next day) but eventually I am rooting around.. I have a local shop 3 mins walk from my home open til 11pm even on Sundays but the xmas food will get munched first.
The marzipan and icing are favourite bits of the cake for me, my mum still makes a brilliant xmas cake (just like her nan did) and also makes me and my DN a GF one. I love the xmas food traditionsPennysIntoPounds said:Oh how very lovely you were reacquainted with those circa 40 year old (to you!) pieces due to our mse advent @Slowdown!
I'm genuinely finding it very touching that folk are digging out bits they haven't seen for years, reuniting matching items, taking a few moments to appreciate with fresh eyes what they do have, etc etc etc, and I'm especially moved that it's because of my little idea. *Christmassy hugs to everyone taking part*
LOVING your jewellery advent calendar idea, sounds wonderful and a great way to remember old pieces,, not just for you but many on MSE. You should start a thread this year - we have 17 days to go.
I will dig out some pieces and start tomorrow .. I have the new mging agent for the flats coming Tues and a big rent negotiation to deal with so feel some suitably large plastic jewellery may happen (maybe the more plasticky the better to denote lack of frugality)
. I still have some large cat jewellery from my teens that may yet come out... like a lion faced watch and a tiger bracelet

No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... Hmm maybe we should start it this year @LadyWithAPlan...
Any thoughts on where in the forum it would be best to place it anyone, especially @EssexHebridean2 -
