  • I'd noted the flu jabs deal but thanks for the reminder @EssexHebridean. Unfortunately its the covid jabs that are extortionate

Love that @WelshmansDaughter, you should get some Christmas cards printed with that on and put them on etsy

Cheers EH and @Slowdown, I'm just annoyed with myself for not having energy to do it but no point being annoyed with oneself for occasionally having to admit to being human I spose, grumble grumble

Didn't buy anything let alone everything I wanted whilst looking online at the fortnums gift section so that's thousands saved 😁

Laundry away and new load in and up

Baileys 1L bottles are a tenner at sainsers from today until the 17th so worth stocking up on if it's also Christmas go-to in your household

    30 minute walk
Shop didn't have the beers I was going to get with a competition attached so another £5.50 saved.
Found four country living magazines and two little bowls

25 minute walk getting essentials and got a stocking gift for Mr PIP from the charity shop so that's £2.50 of the £10 stocking challenge. Also bought myself a book I'd wanted for ages for £2.50 so I'm just going to consider those spends as balancing each other out.
Found a little pile of books (£2 in the ziffit basket)
    and a L'Oréal hair gloss.
Deodorants seem to keep going up in price so finally gave in and got the aldi one for 99p, so that's at least 40p saved
Got sun dried tomatoes for £1.79 and I'd budgeted £3 so that's £1.20 saved

    £31.10 saved in total

Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning 1k and all the hampers

Dinner is fancy spaghetti from the freezer via community food co-op ages ago, with the rest of an open jar of sauce that needs using

  • Lol good side hustle idea. maybe not the most christmassy of mottos but every season needs a refresh now and then
  • Oh hurrah to FINALLY getting the apology - I mean about time too, but at least that's something you can now tick off!

Someone mentioned elsewhere about the good Baileys prices - means I should get the impetus to finish last year's bottle and buy a new one then!

Won a £2.67 voucher which is meant to be for a specific item but I think can be used on anything in the shop..

    Shower and hairwash

Was going to use some money from PB win to try to fit in a catch up with friends this month but we're doing it in Dec so that can come out of normal budget. Approx £25 saved (or at least saved to put towards Christmas and flat pots since that's where this research group money was going)

Really fancied going to the pub. Resisted. £10 saved

    30 minute carpet walk

Used the Omaze £10 win for subscription as thats basically the only relevant option, must remember to cancel. Still, saved me a stamp so 85p

Dinner is YS new potatoes with warmed salad and mozzarella sticks on the side

  • Tried to enter a charity Christmas raffle for a quid but its website wouldn't recognise that my date of birth clearly makes me over 18 so that's £1 saved

  • lovely PB win and on your not spending savings...

We all feel like not  going out in the cold at this time of year, so dont feel guilty re that survey thing.

    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
