That poor Chief Exec having to manage without a phone - still I'm sure he will be very happy to receive an email from you.  Must be lonely for him with such limited communication tools available to help with his Chief Exec'ing work.

No phone number for at least 90% of people who could actually help with anything. However, the more useless they are they call you 🤷‍♀️

  • Tis a she @Blackcats but otherwise wholeheartedly agree, the poor thing stuck behind her desk trying to chief exec all day without even a phone to aid her work, none of her assistants or secretaries have one either, or an email address, so I really don't know how they all manage

Absolutely @Slowdown, I hate making or receiving phone calls, but apparently it's essential for the sh*te organisations- had to have a call with hospital trust a couple of days ago to confirm my bank details. Which were given to them by the ombudsman two months ago. Which I confirmed with the trust in writing a month ago.

Yep @Sun_Addict. It is absolutely ludicrous.

It is rather difficult not to suspect such things after they've behaved this way for so long isn't it @lucielle. I think the most gracious thing I can assume is that it would suit the council very nicely if we gave up or ran out of money as they or their developer associates could then stick a block of flats there and the council could tick off a chunk of their new-housing-provided list. And in that instance someone would profit very handsomely, and it wouldn't be us!

After work (camra discount) beers with Mr PIP who is feeling recovered from the cold if not the annoyance at having to find dental money

It's so annoying when things go wrong with teeth. I have had a lifetime of this. Being a child of the 70s, I have a LOT of amalgam & every additional breakage was/is an annoyance. I can even remember where I was when certain tooth breakages happened. There was the library at Calke Abbey molar breakage for instance, when a piece of tooth fell off from nothing other than pure spite while I was enjoying a pleasant walk around a stately home......& then there was the 'I'm too weak & delicate to masticate a digestive biscuit' fracture at a garden centre in deepest Bedfordshire. At least I have an NHS dentist, which these days seems to be a major win in itself.
Hope Mr PiP soon gets it sorted & that you win some competitions.

  • If you have other council email addresses you may be able to determine the format they use. Then just use the relevant name
  • Outrageous behaviour from your teeth @foxgloves. Mr PIP needs to see if he can transfer to my dentist up here in t'north London, I was very grateful to have found an NHS dentist- but needing to find unexpected money even for NHS band treatment is still very annoying! We saw a friend yesterday and were discussing how it's absolutely shocking that having teeth is a financial privilege

Cheers @WelshmansDaughter, unfortunately the original email we used *was* the one with the actual name 😂😭

Makes you wonder if a developer is giving the council a backhander to encourage them to drag their heels in the hopes you give up 🤔
