  • Hope he let you keep it @KajiKita, that was clearly your reward for doing laundry!

I did end up keeping it - he was exhausted and filthy, heading for a shower and just wandered off …
    It was my washing 🤷‍♀️

Didn't find any money today but didn't leave my £1 in the locker at the swimming pool either so I'll count that as a win.  Would prefer a money generating washing machine to my basic model though,
  • In that case @KajiKita it was your reward for not saying 'check your bloody pockets before putting things in the laundry, do you know how much a new washing machine would cost'!

You are definitely a quid richer @Blackcats. I too would like one of KK's generous washing machines, but ours does do a little song when it's finished and sounds so happy and proud of itself that it even raises a wry smile and occasional begrudging dance-along from cynical old me

  • Yeah not sure about hanging around playgrounds as a career. Might end badly

Just follow a few teenagers around.  Like the ones I was behind in a Home Bargains that said to the person behind the till - keep the change.  We were not talking 2p.  Maybe on being told no they just decided to throw it away in the park.  I was there at a different time for me & it seems that was normal behaviour.  I was so gobsmacked at the time all I said was really!

I think throwing away coppers IS normal behaviour for some. Back when I was trying to do an early morning walk around the village a few times a week, I often used to wonder why I'd find so many 1p & 2p coins on the pavement where the school bus stopped. None at other times of day.
    Maybe coppers are uncool.

The teenagers round here are obviously more parsimonious as I have never found any money  outside either the shop or the sm where they go for their snacks before and after school despite being there at the right times.
