Their parents cannot be on MSE.  If I had caught my DS throwing even 1p away we would have had words.  In the charity box okay but throw it away!!
  • 😁 @WelshmansDaughter but if you find the Mayfair McMo token in a playground you'll be able to get a decent lawyer and have money left over..

Think you're all right about it being a status thing to 'not need' loose change, I remember a friend of mine (better off than me) in teen years discarding all her coins and saying they were clogging up her purse.
Obviously the kids near @ladyholly don't dare in case they get a withering look over an ebay parcel

Yesterday was the usuals, still pretty tired and achey.
Same today, going to attempt some steps with Mr PIP though

Main news is superdrug is doing half price flu jabs for people with their membership card, so a tenner rather than twenty quid- if you were thinking of getting the flu vaccination definitely use or sign up for their (free) loyalty card and get it booked in

  • That sounds complicated PiP I’ll stick to my scratchcards

When my DS was younger and still lived at home he was the same with small change. I decided to put all the coppers he threw out in a jar and save them until I had enough to buy a bottle of wine just to prove how much he was throwing away.

    Minor flat clean

Mr PIP went back to bed as he feels like he's got a cold coming on, I did a 20 minute carpet walk then a
50 minute walk round the area by myself, found two books so that's another 89p in the ziffit basket

Going to read yesterday's paper sections on the sofa with a drizzly weather appropriate beer, and do pasta and sauce with lots of extra garlic when Mr PIP emerges

Hope everyone has a cosy Sunday evening

Very disappointed that I didn’t find anything on the streets of Westminster when I visited on Wednesday 😞🤣

  • Given the quality of politicians these days @Sun_Addict you should count yourself lucky you didn't come home with anything from Westminster 😁

Nearly snorted out loud at the Westminster comment!

It certainly used to be seen as uncool to place any value on small change - always seemed utterly ludicrous to me, I have to say!

The WM in the cottage we stay in on holiday sings a little song when it finishes its cycle - just ends up as a complete earworm for most of the holiday!

    Shower and hairwash, so achey.
Sleeping in living room probably not helping but preferable to catching Mr PIP's cold!

20 minute walk getting an olio book, found another pile of books, several kept to read and one accepted by ziffit for 50p

25 minute walk getting essentials, found 1p and five McMo tokens

Popped round mum's with some magazines and got a lovely blanket she doesn't use in return. Picked up a sold vinted item

Entered some competitions, hoping this is going to be my year for all the fancy hampers

Got pip money, decided I'm allowed to keep thirty quid of it back to pay for flu and covid jabs since it's health related

Got paid by a client so share to tax pot

Went back to mum's to print the label for the vinted item, duh

24 minute walk dropping off vinted item

Got my £20 M&S voucher for property spot, not sure whether to put it towards a Christmas gift or a nice dinner for us. Too tired to think about it now!

Going to do Mr PIP mash and baked beans for dinner, comfort food that's also a portion of f&v. And they're free allotment spuds from mum so mse too

Oh and Mr PIP went for a small walk round the block to get some air and sunshine and came back with an enormous bunch of M&S pink lilies for me, from a local place that saves supermarket flowers that are going to be chucked, sells them at very reasonable prices and donates it all to charity, so I'm very pleased with my gorgeous flowers and that they were mse and that the money is going to charity 😊
