Every time I write that I think 'you sound like Jesse from the Fast Show' @Slowdown! If I ever win anything I'll have to switch to 'Brilllliannnnt!' 😂
It was definitely the ale, don't think my local's salubrious enough for Swedish noblemen 😁
Ah the folly of youth, or at least being younger than you were- we'll just have to appreciate ourselves now before we feel like idiots in ten years time again!2 -
Along with the usual bits of admin and tidying, I did some small bits of work, and replied in no uncertain terms to a panelbase survey that called EDS 'a disease of the skin and hair'. I know there are different types and that people present differently with it but I found that a very ignorant way of referring to it, especially by a company that has a large reach and was basically trying to flog people cannabis oil. So irresponsible. So I had my little huff and panelbase were decent enough to say they agreed and they'd be contacting the survey company
Read that UK interest rates are predicted by the IMF to reach 6% then settle at 5% until 2028, which will certainly make any decisions involving us getting a mortgage rather difficult... Still, better to have things to struggle with and a mortgage than no options at all! It'll probably take the council until 2028 to get back to us anyway 😂😭
Vacuumed the flat with the snazzy new Shark. Love the little light so you can see just how bad a job you did last time 😁
Also did a load of laundry and changed the sheets and my gosh I was aching. Had hoped to get some extra steps in today but my joints decided that idea could get in the bin and tenderly marched me to nice clean bed for a little lie-down instead
Read some of the book my friend gifted me as he'd loved it so much, Ben Aaronovitch 'Rivers of London'. Wasn't sure I'd get on with it at the start but I'm racing through it and there's no more of an honest verdict than that
Bribed myself out of bed with a cup of tea and some chocolate (medicinal obviously) and did some more small bits of work
Then picked up a few loaves of fancy bread from Olio en route to now waiting with a pint (N1, 4.1%) to meet Mr PIP for an after work beer (with CAMRA discount) and a catch up, so did at least get some steps in
Think I'll utilise the feeling-extra-sore stand-by jar of pasta sauce (Aldo own-brand) for dinner tonight, maybe chuck some peppers in for an extra portion of fruit and veg, and do it as a pasta bake for the bubbling, crusty cheesy comfort

In this house that is the light of seeing the corners in the bathroom when you couldn't be bothered to turn the lights on2

Showered and washed my hair so already a tiring start to the day!
Did some small work and some small cleaning of bathroom
Entered some competitions- today I'm mostly looking forward to winning £750 worth of English wine
Put in a complaint about how long it's taken to hear back from the Housing Association about my previous flat. I know I'm not going to get tenancy but leaving someone in official homeless limbo for so many months just isn't okay. It's bad enough for me to be constantly waiting but I'm fortunate to have two people to stay with, what about the people who have no-one. Felt uncomfortable being a complain-y person but if I've learnt anything over the past couple of years it's that those who make a pain of themselves (and it seems, know how to play the system) get things in life, sadly for those of us who were brought up to believe that if you're polite and do the right thing everything will be okay 😞 Am trying to retrain myself to be forthright as befits surviving in modern society...
Did some more small work, sent premium bonds to flat pot, researched then ordered a book at a good price that I want to give my close friend for her birthday
And had a £1 off your shop voucher for Coop so Mr PIP and I went in and they had two big pizzas reduced from £5.85 each to £1.24 each. That wasn't being left on the shelf, especially with the voucher!
Hope you're all having a good midweek, and if not, there are still two more days of the working week to have a try at x

P.S. no nastiness intended towards any people who may be commonly held to be 'playing the system', wish I'd blimmin learnt to!2

“I really don’t think that people can play the system anymore”
I think they can. That is conditional on systems being present in the first place rather than the broken and non existent ones we seem to have now. Some that do exist are definitely subject to corruption in many ways. You only have to look at our current government to see that! 🤔0 -
I'm looking forward to you winning £750 of English wine too as I'm confident you will be generous to MSE friends regardless of which footie team they support. I am a Londoner but of the South West variety so Chelsea were more or less my most local team (if I walked past Craven Cottage without stopping). I've supported them all my life - my mum actually got stuck in the turnstiles when she was pregnant with me and my dad just got home from a match in time to call the midwife for my arrival. Seen lots of ups and downs in that time.0
