Someone from Olio collected the cat's food and a brush so that's at least nice that they can be used. He sent me a picture of his cat enjoying the food which was very sweet and much appreciated
Couple of receipt surveys
Half wussy situps
Sent an email to Barbour about broken wallet zip
Sold an item on eBay, need to send it tomorrow
Dentists was £156.80, although £60 of that was my own fault for being vain. Am going to attempt being even skinter than usual rather than take it out of a pot
Essentials from Aldi
Couple of beers with Mr PIP for the end of his birthday week, though I think he's allowed to extend it a bit since our beloved cat died!
Dinner is hummus, baguette and salad with Mr PIPs birthday Fortnums cheese and crackers

So sad to read about your lovely cat. Just back from a few days away where a forgotten 👁pad resulted in a digital detox so I'm sorry I didn't message sooner.0

Glad someone was able to make use of the cat food, @PiP. We did the same when we lost our previous dear old fur friend (also to cancer). We knew we would adopt again, but at the time, it just felt too sad seeing the food & I'm sure you both felt the same. At the time, the vet mentioned radiotherapy, surgery, etc, but she had already said how poorly he was, so we didn't want to put him through all of that for what we were told would probably only be another year. As soon as we made the sad decision that it was time to say goodbye, the vet said that was exactly what she'd have done it it had been her cat. It helped to know that, but it still felt very sad being in a cat-less house. There are so many new advanced treatments for animals, but I think sometimes we are tempted to choose these stressful treatments for us, really, rather than what is best for the poorly animal. It is the absolute worst thing about being a pet owner. We have to balance it with the lovely time we had with them & the safe home, food & fuss they received from us.
Extension of birthday week was definitely deserved imo!

Agreed @foxgloves and @beanielou. It's just causing a different suffering to them if there's not a speedy and lasting solution and they'll have plenty of happy healthy years left. It's up to us as the meowmmy/pawpa to do the right thing by them even if it's gutting for us.
Still horribly gutted and sad though! But that's the price we pay for love eh.3 -

Receipt survey
Got a ziffit code so will have one more scan of the rejects pile then get that box off hopefully tomorrow
20 minute walk dropping insurance form at vets and sending eBay sale
Found 1p
Comping
One hour walk with Mr PIP:
Cex were utterly dreadful and I'm going to make a complaint
Got £15 from pawnbrokers for a broken gold bracelet
Used Morrison's voucher for beer and chocolate with comps attached, and a lipbalm so I get my £5 birthday money I was keeping aside for it back
Found another 1p
And mum's meal pot had 54p interest, so that's £20.56 so far back from the dental costs
Email from Barbour saying they'll send a replacement wallet if I post mine back
Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning 1k but I would also like a posh necklace please. And a case of rosè. And a 1k voucher to spend in Liberty. Thanking you.
Bit of spec work
We're being very good and resisting going to the pub so we can 'pay ourselves back' (Mr PIP would like to see if he can recoup some of the costs of the vets) so that's a tenner added to the dental costs I.O.ME
Mr PIP is going to get some free Olio bread shortly and I'll do those ziffit checks
Dinner is leftover lasagne with salad leaves
