Jumped on the Hargreaves Lansdown MSE deal, it's not often you get £50 back for investing £100
I do now need to find another £100 to pay my account back though 😁
Shower and hairwash
20 minute walk getting some pasta from Olio, it's a big bag so adding £1 saved to the money I.O.ME
20 minute walk getting essentials from Aldi, entered a competition by post, found a couple of pans about the size mum is after
Comping
Small bit of spec work
Half wussy situps
Did initial prep for dinner- cheesy potatoes with baked tomatoes
Having spent ages on hold to the council to eventually be told that not only is there no planning department phone number but that it wasn't going to happen that they'd pick up calling via the switchboard, then being given an email address as the only way to contact them then getting an autoreply that strongly suggests they won't be replying to that either, went to the pub0 -
Seven months @grimble37
I also tried to find the link earlier but I guess it's been taken down if all the deal places have been jumped on!1 -
PennysIntoPounds said:It does feel like an elaborate wind-up where the council just takes our money and sniggers that we think they even have a planning department @badmemory
We haven't yet contacted the MP again @Chrystal as we wanted to give the ward councillor a chance to get back to us but since it seems he also doesn't give a sh*te about us, if we haven't heard from ward councillor or planning department next week or two I think we'll probably go for official council complaint/head of council attempt, as MP previously didn't respond to us after we responded back about our initial contact with MP when the council just lied to them about what they'd done and we hadn't done, so not feeling like there's much hope there either!
This is a complex recipe, I hope you've braced yourself 😁
Fork or skewer prodded (pref along edges but they'll cope if all over) baking potatoes in microwave til they're soft
Cut in half lengthways and scoop out
Mix and mash in a bowl with a dash of butter, dash of milk, twist or two of black pepper, ton of grated cheese, put back in skins
More cheese grated on top if you like browned crusty cheese (nom nom)
Oven cook gas mark 6 or equivalent for approx 30 minutes
Tomatoes (pref vine but all bake nicely) cut in half and put in on same baking tray at same temp for 20 mins, or a bit less if you're using small tomatoes or prefer them firmer
TLDR: Microwave spuds, scoop out and mix with milk, butter, black pepper, cheddar, put back in skins, bung in oven for about half an hour, bung tomatoes cut in half in after ten minutes
Thanks Pip.... that's tonight's tea sorted then.... haven't had jacket spuds for ages and yours sound delicious

but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy0 -
Ooh hope you enjoy @Chrystal, let me know how they go. We often bake for a little bit longer as we're fiends for browned oozy cheese 😁

4.71 from ebay sale to flat pot
Laundry
Two vinted listings
Comping
Receipt survey
Lots of carpet walks reading
Three quarters wussy situps
Few more listings
45 minute walk round the neighbourhood, checked the dinner reservation which was of course fine.
Found a pile of glossy magazines that will do the usual magazine rounds of family and friends
Bits and bobs off the to-do list including some of the slow sad progress on defluffing parts of the flat, though largely it has been proved that in death as in life, resistance to the floof is futile
Hope everyone has a lovely Friday evening

Happy Friday 🍻 Sending hugs for the sadness of de-fluffing the flat 💔I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Thanks @Sun_Addict much appreciated. We should sort all the main bits out really as family friends are staying for a week in a few days but her (clean I hasten to add) litter tray has her little exploring paw imprints in it and that is going to be the absolute worst sad to clear
But on a more positive note we had a lovely evening taking mum out for her thank you meal and I of course got my mse doggy bag for my leftovers so that's a nice lunch already paid for.
The Olympics opening ceremony was on in the corner so I did my usual thing of going 'I am not going to watch, I will not get into it and waste my time' to going 'well I'll just watch a tiny bit cos it's nice to see all the countries all looking happy' to 'this is actually really moving (gulp)' and now I'm invested dammit 😂

Hi
Haven’t chipped in for a while but been following along.Sorry to hear about your fluffy friend. It’s so sad losing pets that are really family members. My two cats left a proper hole in my heart. I’m really not looking forward to my son moving back to his girlfriend’s flat in the autumn because his gorgeous dog will go with him. He’s a super fluffety, super softie German Shepherd whom I adore. I have requested custody rights 3 days a week. He’ll come for sleepovers. 🥰
You have had a lot of frustrations to deal with lately PIP and have my sympathies. You do so well keeping your spirits up and your spends down that I have nothing but admiration for your efforts. I do hope lots of the irritations get sorted out soon.I wanted to comment on lots of bits and pieces said by you and others but my menopausal brain only allows for 30 second memory storage so I’d have to trawl through again to pick out the details. My menopausal body says eat cake instead so that I shall do!Plan is to dip in more frequently so I don’t forget what I’m saying. I’ll try and remember to do so. 🤪
Happy Saturday 😊2 -
It’s always my job here to de-cat the house after one of our cats die - Mr KK can’t bear it … It was the food bowls that got me …. 😢
Anyway, enough sadness from me! 😉 By the time you’ve won all the stuff you’ve entered competitions for, you’ll have enough stock for a market stall! 😉😂

Thanks for all your kind words @Slowdown, hope you enjoyed the cake and looking forward to you dropping in more often 😊
All these hampers are bound to start rolling in soon @KajiKita, any day now 😁
I did manage to part with one of the pasta sauces from my comp win but only to gift it to mum, everything else is still sitting there unused cos too nice for the likes of me 😂
