  • Happy July everyone!
    My June assessment:

Thank you meal out for mum, will go halves with Mr PIP so I need approx £50- DONE, thank you Ernie

Save/find/win approx £250 for Mr PIP's birthday next month DONE, thank you Ernie and past me for putting £25 a month for a year in a savings account that matured in June. All allocated now but I needed it now and that's a good enough return for me atm

Sort out our vinteds, ebays, and ziffits piles-
Um yeah. We have, tbf, had a whole flat move to sort out with extra effort needing to go on bits we wouldn't have prioritised because of the 'flat share' aspect.
Mr PIP has done ziffiting and has enough to cash out but we're waiting a wee while in case a bonus code occurs soon. I have done ziffiting and am nearly at cash out point and particularly pleased cos they're largely books that were previously rejected.
Next priority should be vinted as we really need to sort out where our clothes actually live but that means doing the big job of me having a big sort out, which I do not yet have physical or emotional energy to do.
Our co-study/office is a tip so going to prioritise getting stuff listed on ebay and hopefully that'll give us a few quid in the flat pot (and nicer working space)

Put up with or scrounge bits we need for flat rather than spend money-
We had two lairy octopus hooks in the useful things bag so put those up instead of spending money on a pretty coat hook rail.
Mr PIP's dad cut us shelves for bathroom so a lesser spend for coating oil and basic (sob) brackets
Friend paid for a clock as a gift.
Still want three more clocks (I'm a firm believer of one in every room) so will have a look round charity shops and money will come from my monthly budget
Would be nice to win a radio or two but not going to spend money on them, my small chargeable one that mostly lives in the bathroom can be easily carried around the flat
Keeping an eye out on Olio for a couple of lampshades but not urgent

    Wipe and sell ipad
    Buttons on coats
Switch to Mr PIP's old phone
    Nope nope and thrice nope

Any unlikely spare money into flat pot- £25 in from PB, little bits tidied away into it, shares from surveys in

There are also a few breaks away I'm pining for but not going to happen unless we win the lottery.
    Still pining

Loving your mission on acquiring things that you need/want for as small a spend as possible.

I started a Useful Things tin before we moved. It came in handy *when* we moved, and still has quite a lot of Useful Things in it, as I recall, but can I remember where we put it now..?  Of course it might be in the shed, in which case, good luck to it, and may it enjoy it's stay...  In the meantime, it does mean that anything small and potentially useful that one of us is looking for can probably be assumed to be in it, I guess...

You need a bigger Useful Things tin in the hope of coaxing the smaller Useful Things tin into it @EssexHebridean 😁

    Cheers @beanielou

    July aims:

Graciously and productively manage the family friends staying this week

    Get these mse brackets

Actually do the thank you meal with mum we've budgeted for!

Give Mr PIP a lovely birthday

    Sort flat, preferably entirely.
Which means very much doing our vinteds, ebays, and ziffits that are hanging around

Keep chasing about the build and do not have a nervous breakdown.
    Need:
    x2 confirmations from Thames
All the confirmations from the bloody council
A time and cost and to-do estimate for getting the excavations started

Any unlikely spare money into the flat pot
Any additional unlikely spare money into the Christmas pot

If we unexpectedly become well off, would be nice to have at least one small trip away and one London overnight stay away weekend this summer

    *Is shamefaced*
    Wipe and sell ipad
    Buttons on coats
Switch to Mr PIP's old phone

Good to look back at what you achieved over the month 🙂 Re Ziffit I didn’t realise you had to reach an amount to cash out 🤔 I have a few books and Wii games it gave a decent price for but not done anything about it yet.
