Tidying
Comping
25 minute walk dropping off charity shop bag
Decided to spend money on a wall stud/leccy detector as no-one seems to have one and it's getting on my nerves
Finally managed to complete a prime survey on the 10th attempt, got my bonus points
Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning 1k but would be right chuffed with some jewellery and wine too please
Did a sort-out with mum and put aside a couple of bits to try to sell
15 minute carpet walk reading
Going to relax with a beer and crossword soon, and ponder the best way to defrost/reheat stuffing from the freezer...

Just catching up. Wonderful win on the PB.
To answer an earlier question this month's book is 'Five Rivers Met On A Wooded Plain' by Barney Norris . Book club is wonderful as the local librarian chooses the books and the library provides them so free to everyone and her choices are very varied. Some everyone loves, some no one likes, some mixed but it provides a free evening out and we have all read books we would not otherwise have chosen it seems.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -

Thanks @Watty1, and your book group sounds great. I've not heard of that one, will look it up!
@Sun_Addict you're probably too worn out to think about crosswords but if you want a small distraction...
Chips and beef come in, 9 letters
_ _ R _ E _ T _ R
I'm thinking 'enter' at the end for 'come in' but other than that I'm blank0 -
Carpenter? Don’t know where beef comes into it though 🤔I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Ooh I like carpenter, I don't know about carp either though... I suppose if you're carping on you're having beef with someone but my knowledge of having beef in terms of arguing is that it's modern slang which this crossword doesn't really use. Although it could be that the phrase is older and I'm unaware...
Love that the word 'vexed' has come back into fashion in recent years, always pleasing to hear da yoot (and me cos I'm old and embarrassing 😁) chatting Bronte-esque0 -
I read the clue , thought ooh chine of beef, remembered that I never did establish why chne of beef was cheap as chips in the good butchers, went 'ooh shiny thing' at a flower in the garden, giggled at a cat singing at a pigeon and then couldn't remember what the original thought was. did anyone work out why it was carpenter? My head just does not work in crossword puzzles sadly. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Me and @Sun_Addict have only just posted @redofromstart, give us a chance 😂
Can't see why carp would be chine but I am not well versed in meaty things... I only know carp as in fish or go on1 -
You could give me a week and explain the answer and I'd still not get it, although there was one my dad was stuck on years ago that involved banananananas and monkeys that made sense to me and he gawped at having been stuck for days.Ooh yes carping on. I still don't get it.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
