Good luck with the car boot. Hope your shoulder is feeling less painful today.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Up earlyish and managed to do basic admin and tidying and getting us fed before going to car boot sale.

Lovely weather for it, and we made £18 profit. Glad we split the entry cost with friends though! And at the end we did a swap, they took some bits of ours they liked and we got a couple of their books, a candle- and a jigsaw 😂 I'm keeping the being wholesome dream alive

We then went for a drink and played a game of ours that hadn't sold and had a thoroughly nice time. Mr PIP and I stayed for more beer and to watch the footie then treated ourselves and mum to a chippie tea. All coming out of our personal budgets, the boot sale profit is going straight in the flat pot!

Joints not great but pleased I was able to have a nice day and contribute to a good day for others.

Had a bit of oddness just now though, a strong red light point was being pointed straight into the living room where we were sitting. We live on the third floor of a block of flats. So could only be someone in a flat directly across the road or on the opposite block's scaffolding or a drone.
Probably just idiot kids messing but felt quite scary. If anyone is thinking of giving a young or unstable person a drone or laser light, please don't!

I would like to say tomorrow is Monday and the start of a fresh week for immense productivity but actually I'm giving myself permission to sleep in for as long as I like and rest my weary body and do b*gger all for as long as I Iike.
So I expect I'll be wide awake at silly a.m. 😁

Absolutely @redofromstart, and I would counter there's no such thing as drivel either! Well, maybe in some cases 😁
I read years ago on, I think twitter, the opinion that societally we consider things like Mills and Boon to be rubbish because we're so used to being told what's good by men and men find it ridiculous that women would imagine themselves wanted and cherished and desirable. Leaving aside the cultural politics of that, it really stuck with me that books are meant to be enjoyable and let us live other lives, and if we scoff at them, through whose eyes did we learn to demean them and their readers (who are vastly usually women)
    here here !!

Sorry to read about your pain levels.. hope you get some rest and those red light people learn some manners

I was in Guernsey last week and saw this topper thought it was very dapper on the blue box !

    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

  • Cheers @beanielou and @LadyWithAPlan

    @dawnybabes that is adorable.
And a double postbox has a bit more room for stretching if one lived in it... and you could get double amusement deciding through which post slot to say thank you in a postbox-y sort of voice... 😁

That sounds like a really productive and positive day - be proud 😊

    Cracking postbox topper!

Hope you sleep and rest and sleep and rest until you feel like a giant refreshed (as my eccentric dad says to me sometimes! 😉).

  • Hello and welcome @Baldybear, what a post to delurk for, I like your style 😁 Yes, on Baker Street and there's a little 'blue plaque' on the postbox there!

Thank you @KajiKita 😊 I would love to feel like a giant refreshed, though it'll just be giant if I don't do some exercise soon 😂

  • Woke up at usual time of course but read a bit in bed then admin and tidying

Shoulder seems to be nearly back to its 'normal' pain level so just need to make myself still be extra cautious for a couple of days to not do any further damage

Forgot to take entry fee off car boot total so actually £13.20 profit but flat pot not objecting to any money being put in

Put another couple of items up for free on Olio to qualify for their competition (I do put items up for free anyway but it'd be daft to not make sure to list in time for a comp)

25 minute walk to collect some free Christmas wrapping paper, turned it into 40 minutes

    Laundry

    Comping
Got an email saying I've won some cava so I expect it's a scam 😁

Reviving piece of the free flapjack I got from Olio. Had an apple too to be good

25 minute walk getting bits from Aldi

Entered some competitions, today I'm mostly looking forward to winning 1k but I would also like a 250 pounds Sainsburys voucher please

This evening someone is coming to collect one of my Olio listings then me and mum will have a random leftovers dinner

Ludicrously changeable weather here including very strong winds and a heavy hailstorm. Hope everyone's keeping alright x
