CEL sign with false timings:
Taken from this thread:
For starters
- you cannot 'register your vehicle inside the premises' when using the Drive-thru. So that term is void;
- the small print is impossible to read. At night that would not be legible;
- It is contrary to good faith to issue PCNs to drivers using a drive-thru;
- That activity is driving, not parking.
As @kryten3000 rightly posted:"
the sign is wrong. What they should have said is:
Parking is permitted for KFC customers only between the hours of…
Then "No parking outside of these hours.
Instead they're forgetting that the day changes at midnight which is misleading (what a surprise)."PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The CEL sign at the KFC also states that "a Parking Charge of up to £100".

Frutiger Condensed 12point is clearly unsuitable for a sign.

Group Nexus sign in a Leeds retail park with lots of issues:
…as discussed in this thread:- it clearly isn't the entrance sign, but it doesn't even mention a £100 PCN nor that the driver is agreeing to a contract. Any driver reading that isn't bound by any t&cs or PCN risk because they forgot to put it there;
- it is 8 feet up a pole & unreadable;
- it talks about 'Match Days' but doesn't say if they mean football at Elland Rd or cricket at Headingly (or what?) and in very small print, it expects motorists to use the GN app to check if it is a 'match day' (that's not only absurd but illegible). How would you know whether to pay £2 or £10?
- payments require an app or a phone. What if it's an older (or poorer) person who doesn't carry a mobile phone, or what if you have no charge once you've shopped for a couple of hours and want to pay £2 (or is it £10, who knows)?
- Digitally excludes older members of society who are more likely than others to be those who need more time and a rest when shopping, so there is consumer harm as well as a social cost: those people will leave the multi-retailer site early and the shops will miss out on customers who were on site but rushed to leave if they are unable to pay by phone;
- the supposed Entrance Sign is on the ground, away from the line of sight of a driver, facing at a perpendicular angle between trees and foliage! No idea why but that's not readable and doesn't comply with the ICO's surveillance rules for ANPR sites or with UKGDPR or the DUA Act 2025 transparency and data privacy rules:

Ref the Group Nexus Leeds sign:-
What happens if it's a night game because based on that sign it could be £10 to park up to 9.00pm and then a further £5 after 9.00pm!

That's true.
And even if not a match-day, those different rates unfairly overlap if a person parks before the 'night rate' but their car remains there into it - causing unfair PCNs - as we've seen with that Britannia (West Quay?) Southampton car park where councillors were so incensed, they got the local Trading Standards involved.

This is from my thread.
The entrance sign near the ground you shared- I did not see. Friend sent me pic.
You would see this (if you can even read from that distance !) when turning left from the main road, into the side street that leads to the car park - (position A in red below)
I turned right from the main road and the visible sign is at entrance from that direction is just a large 'P' (marked B in green)
Sign B as seen when turning right into the side street
This street view is dated 2022 but shows the first bays you encounter (look towards the no entry signs - that's where you can turn right into the car park and the first bays) There are no signs at those first bays. The first on that row is about half way along, as seen on this link
https://maps.app.goo.gl/T4yd8Hh9u6xrWTM47?g_st=ac
The signage today is just as sparse as on this4 years old street vie. They likely just replaced those old signs.

Excel at notorious Copeland Street:
Taken from this thread, where the entrance is also shown:
They are being sued by Excel, but there was a disabled passenger who is legally entitled to an extension of parking time. "The defendant was out shopping with someone with rheumatoid arthritis, they suffered quite a severe flare-up and needed a lot of assistance to get back to the vehicle, resulting in a 25 minute overstay".
So this is a breach of the Equality Act 2010. Easy to defend on that basis.
But what an appalling (impossible to read in under 5 minutes) word-soup sign!
And the 'privacy notice' has to be at the entrance (to prominently warn of camera surveillance BEFORE a driver crosses the threshold) not tacked above the gobbledegook main sign inside.

UKCPM signage - all high up on a wall in a dark carpark with no lights in it! From sept 2025.
The closest thing to an entrance sign from a 30mph road on a sharp bend! This is up high about 10ft on a 1story high building about 10 metres away from entrance inside carpark.

ForecourtEye, spot the sign in a petrol station.
It's about six by eight inches maximum, placed 8 feet up well above the proper, large and readable signs, and it is wholly inadequate to create a contract:
That last pic is zoomed in on a camera but you cannot see this with the naked eye.However, it even wants people to scan a teeny tiny QR Code to read their t&cs! Nobody would do that, it's financially unsafe to use outdoor QR Codes that can be tampered with and nobody would even see the words, let alone decide "oooh I'll read the hidden t&cs!"
