grandmanerd said:The insect bite had a 7" diameter this morning, but at least nothing is oozing out.
When we were in Germany DH was the only one getting stung the one night he didn't put Sm1dge on and had a horrific reaction to each bit (think it was midges but also had thread-waiste wasps in the house).
Anyway, if you haven't yet please get it checked soon or at least phone for instance NHS 111 tomorrow.
All the best

Grateful today for DS’s first day back at school going smoothly, for getting washing line dried, for OH taking us out for dinner, and for a good TV series to watch in the evening: The Full Monty.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸8

Get well soon to all those feeling under the weather. Loving the sound of your blue bubbles, @beanielou.
DH has ordered new bearings & a drum for our washing machine. Will take 4 weeks for it to arrive, so he's said he'd hand wash some stuff when needed. Vexing, as I only have 1 more box of kids clothes to wash, then advertise for sale. Maybe I'll ask mum when I go for a sleepover on Friday.
Took DH into town for his appointment, he was only in 15mins! I'd started an email, but only got halfway through. Finished it once we got home though. Took my rug with me to visit a friend. Wasn't sure if we were going for a walk or crafting. Ended up crafting. Had a good heart to heart. She said she wanted to be my friend from first sight, (a few years back now) which was lovely!
Didn't realise the time, so dashed home, gobbled a quick slice of toast, then walked to the village for my hair appointment. Was £5 cheaper than my usual hairdresser in town! Booked to go again in 8 weeks time. Dropped sewing off at my friend's, nipped in the shop for milk & a few other bits, then walked home with my heavy rucksack.
Finally are my dinner at 3.30, then had a lie down. Washed up after tea, replaced a zip, then did a bit more of my rug.
Grateful for compliments, bring able to sleep when needed, good TV programmesUse it up, wear it out

@Thrifty_Taylor how did you make the rug? Was it a kit you bought. Do you have a picture of the finished product?
P.S. what did it mean when your friend said she wanted to be your friend from first sight? Not a native English speaker and never heard that expression.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/258 -
Hi I think I joined for this month, but sadly this is my first real post. Got home from serene residency and got hit by a wall of reality. Boys/young men unaligned, creating tension, car broken down twice. A twisted ankle and well basically a bit of chaos:
Remedy:
Today take bus to car to get it towed/fixed.
Do an online shop for weekend.
Go to a ladies meetup on weekend
Plan nice dinner for Sunday night
Invite ds2 to Sunday dinner
Do some meal planning
Looks like car will be done in a minute so that is one loose end tied up (for now).
Have a lovely Thursday everybody.

All the ironing and a few other jobs done yesterday.
Another hospital appointment today. A scan for something or other. Don't quite know what for as I have two letters relating to the same appointment for two different things. Must confess there are so many people and departments involved in this I'm not sure that they are communicating very well with one another.
So, appointment is late afternoon, This hospital is notoriously difficult to get to by public transport so it's going to be a bit of a day out and we'll be in the middle of thee rush hour getting home.
At east it's not raining.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -
Feeling miserable as the cough and sore throat have been joined by stuffy/ sneezey nose (it alternates), left leg hurts from doing too much earlier in the week, right leg bothersome because of the bite. Thanks for your input thrifty - I asked Beloved to check the bite wound last night (I couldn't bend enough to get a good look at it) and she's pretty sure there's nothing in there. I have had them go like this before, my grandma couldn't get through summer without saucer sized bites on her legs (in later years she sprayed fly spray on her legs before leaving the house. The dark red/ purple bit in the middle is only an inch by an inch and a half, the rest is just pink. Obviously catching it with the base of the bucket took the top off and spread the poison, so leaving it alone as much as possible.
I contacted the pharmacy first thing and they haven't had my prescription back from the doctor's. Phoned them and they claimed not to have received anything but promised to get it sent through to the pharmacy. I've run out of one pill and 2 are very low but I've done what I can - will just have to postpone my blood tests as will give false readings atm. I've sipped some beef and veg soup very slowly and that has made me more comfortable and I have lots to be getting on with. The quotes I could find weren't really right (different sort of miserable and then 'rest days' from your running schedule). Would like to get downstairs at some point but not going to rush things.
Grateful for having a shower, beef and veg soup and a great tv series.8 -
Ditty, hope the chaos subsides. Take care.

Today I am grateful for a fab day with Oz rellies and their 2 toddlers (and that they left around 4pm!), for sunshine with a breeze, for fresh rasps, for the lovely neighbours who loaned us some toys for the toddlers, for taking lots of photos of the day.
