Wellness Wednesday
Time to check-in with yourself:
How am I feeling?
Do I have more worry and anxiety than usual?
What do I need right now?
What can I do today to make me feel good?
What am I grateful for?
(Wellness Wednesday)
Wednesday is a day to help others celebrate life. You and only you are accountable for what you extend and give to others. One smile not only increases your value, but it gives joy to each person you meet.
(Byron Pulsifer)
My attitude toward progress has passed from antagonism to boredom. I have long ceased to argue with people who prefer Thursday to Wednesday because it is Thursday
(G K Chesterton)
A good day is a day in which we manage to grow even a little bit and to move ahead just one tiny step. When we stagnate we lose ourselves and we lose endless chances. That is why a good Wednesday is a day when we did things and we did them well
(Liza Hawkins)
You aren't useless - you could be used as a bad example

Good morning,
at last a great nights sleep. Feel so much more energetic and motivated today.
DS got on well on his first in secondary yesterday. Some kids from S6 teased him at lunch and he didn't want to go back today but I told him to ignore them and they'll get bored of it soon especially if he doesn't react plus there should be staggered break times from today. Just lucky he didn't react
Today should be another NSD, just cashed out £11 from TCB and dinner will be something Chinese with prawns and stuff from the freezer. The kids get their LO fish and chips from Sunday crisped up in the oven.
Might finally have the energy after work to cook some lunches. Will need to go and harvest the last surviving kale, I think there is caterpillar hiding in the green house. Luckily the chard recovered, after I moved it out into the open. Maybe should do the same with the kale.
The 6 cucumber plants I had in pots outside have been pretty much entirely consumed by slugs, and only two courgette plants survived till now. Possibly because I started them all too late this year and they weren't big enough to withstand the onslaught. Still, got some fruit still to harvest, the blueberries are just getting ripe and the apples are coming a long nicely too, just not that many this year, but enough to eat for a while (last years glut was actually unmanageable).DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/258 -
I have stewed the bag of plums a neighbour gave me, can't decide whether to just cover them in custard, or to bake a sponge to cover in stewed plum and then slather them in custard. Nice problem to have - Oh won't somebody think of the children! - eta 'Mr Somebody' has eaten most of the sugar in a night time raid, so they can just have custard. Swines! Also made a fridge-bottom soup to use up all the sad bendy veg. Fridge nice and tidy now. Had to do a small shop, but stayed in budget and paid in loose change, so got rid of that too. Also made me keep within budget.Chickpeas soaking on the kitchen bench, Jack Frost nipping at your nose.... its been said, many times, many ways... Falafel and Hummus, to you (well, me, tomorrow anyway).Three loads of laundry line drying outside, more flower deadheading and passiflora wrangling while I was out there. Smashed a mug. Cashed out £6 from p/a, Fixed a zip on a school bag (by wriggling the zip until it behaved ) cleaned the bathroom mirror.Happy Wednesday all!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Felt a bit unwell last night, had a headache when I went to bed but didn't think too much of it. Woke up at 3am with a pounding headache and have felt rough all day. Still did some WFH but not loads. Am waiting for test results for whatever this mystery illness may be (Dr suspects a bacterial infection in my tummy that could be causing an ulcer plus the headaches, yay!).
Had plans to go gym first thing but those definitely got shelved in favour of lying on the sofa! Did manage to get a small load of washing out and dried in the sunshine though but not much else. Just been mooching around feeling sorry for myself but also glad I was home and not in the office. Hoping this clears up overnight.
On the plus side, ate well today and no spends!10 -

The insect bite had a 7" diameter this morning, but at least nothing is oozing out. Getting downstairs for food and drinks was extremely difficult so I've chosen to work on sorting out my room. I'm slow and there's still lots to do but I have made progress. I've washed my mask and hose and I've thrown my sheets and bedspread down for washing. The rest is just shuffling and sorting small bits of paper, photographs, finding any stray pills (repeat prescription has not come yet so need to find any oddments that are lurking), cutlery (clean pile and dirty pile) and nursing all the sore bits. Yesterday I made some arrangements for later in the month - I'm going to an all you can eat sushi place with DS1 and darling d-i-l on the 26th - lunch time because it's BH weekend and DS1 suspects people will be overindulging by the evening.
Grateful for something to look forward to, getting some things done despite limitations on movement, finding some things that made me smile.7 -
Today I am grateful for a cardboard box meaning I could be outside and still use my tablet, for dc joining me on a trip to the gym, for DH liking the t-shirt we got him, for stepds finally replying and giving us a little info re their flight and visit tomorrow!, for good coffee.
