NSD No 10
Feeling a lot more positive now. Thank goodness. Just didn't think this would be going on for so long. We have a trip planned in January and I'm not sure that it will happen. Himself is really looking forward to it but we've had a chat this afternoon and he's said that he is also aware that it is a possibility so we'll just play it by ear and adjust our plans if need be. That's made me feel a whole lot better.
The cat appeared at 10.30 looking for breakfast. I swear he's being fed by everyone in the neighbourhood. My cousin calls him Six Dinner Sid after a cat in a book.
Washing done. The Boy's birthday presents have arrived. Vouchers for their favourite restaurants. Don't know what else to buy him to be honest. He has everything he needs and wants (apart from a boat and my finances don't quite stretch to that). I'm sure they'll both enjoy it.
Just to be planning a bit I've started gathering basics together for our holiday. Bin bags, freezer bags, bits and pieces that I just want enough of so that I'm not buying them and either having to leave them or bring them back. No point in buying them since I already have them in stock anyway.
So, some roast beef from the freezer for dinner. At this rate it'll be unrecognisable by the end of the month
Have a good evening. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Got home from the funeral about 6 pm and I'm trying not to fall asleep. I have a tray of leftover buffet and another that's mostly lettuce. think I might clear enough space to sleep and settle down. Can play catch up for the rest of the week.
Grateful for free food, my brother actually coming into the wake with us (we found a quiet table away from the main group) and having a good time (he gave up drinking more than 30 years ago, stopped smoking 3 years ago and now has diabetes - the doctors had urged him to eat as much as he liked because he was underweight). I asked what he was drinking and then pointed out it was full of sugar. Later he started to play darts with my niece's bf and then had a game of pool with his daughter (my niece). I was supposed to be going home with him but niece's bf asked if I could go with his ex-wife and he and my niece would continue playing pool with my brother.
My brother signed the letter I had written out and I was able to pass some family stuff onto my younger niece (a bag of pre-decimal coins, an old camera box - we used to keep family photos in it) and other bits (I have more, but I wrote out file cards with bits of information about the items and an anecdote or two). Gave updates on a few things to do with mum's estate and have promised to help my friend sort her dad's house out when she's ready to. Her parents had lived in that house all their married life so lots to sort through and find new homes for.7 -
NSD 5 in the bag. Went to my volunteer role two times today. Offered to help a friend clear her mum's house. Lots of people I know are emptying their parents houses right now to sell to pay for their care home fees. Must be the time of year for it.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Evening turtles
Not much to report today, NSD, got to the gym first thing and also managed a walk at lunchtime and again after work.6 -
I put my washing on, washing out, washing dried, and then shook it all about…Popped to local SM to post a second pair of shoes that sold on VinTd.Cleaned kitchen surfaces and some cupboard doors that were spattered with various homemade sauces (a job I’ve been putting off for too long). It felt good so I then grabbed the mop and wiped over all our hard floors upstairs and down. I honestly don’t know why I put these things off… they don’t take me too long and I feel much better for it.I was working today too but I have nothing interesting to say about it. 🤣Oh and I finally received some missing cash back from a claim I submitted to TopCASHback a few weeks ago. £35 from purchasing a car insurance policy through their website. I’ll save it in my trips account.Grateful today for getting ‘stuff’ done at home and at work, for missing cashback turning up, for Mum looking after DS, for DS starting to try some other foods other than pizza, for OH helping to prepare dinner, and for just having a decent day, no drama.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸8

Sending big hugs @Toni'sfriend. Paint your nails, primp your hair & play some of your favourite tunes. If you dance around the kitchen too, so be it x
Well done to those who've had a productive day. @thriftylass it sounds like you've had a major reshuffle!!
My day hasn't been as productive as yesterday. Hung washing out, then took DH for his blood test, phoned mum after she'd received sad news. Went for a 5.3 mile walk. I fancied walking up a large hill, with a view across all our islands on a clear day, but DH didn't think we'd have time before his dental appointment. Looked in a couple of CSs, bought some sewing patterns to make myself some clothes at some point. Whilst he was at the dentist, I repaired a split seam in a coat for a customer, & started typing an email to my auntie in America. I updated her on dad's 'marriage' & told her that I have no feelings towards him (though she's probably guessed!), due to his lack of interest in my life. He's a very selfish man. Felt a bit carp for sending the email afterwards, but hey ho! Sure she'll understand my feelings.
Read my book whilst eating dinner, then I set to & cut some branches into @12" lengths, to put in a couple of clay chimney liner cylinders, to start my bug hotel. Went back out after tea & finished the second one, plus did a terracotta drain pipe. The midges were rife, so didn't stay out too long!
Washed the dishes, then started a free trial of a TV channel. Watched 3 episodes of a series I wanted to watch, & did my rug. Nearly at the bottom now 😃
Grateful for talking to mum on the phone (one of her colleagues from before she retired, died suddenly on Saturday), progressing with the wildlife hotel, selling some books, so 2 piles less in my small living roomUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Hello!
Feeling lighter by letting go of the job, and more effective as a consequence!
Spend free days #5 - not sure I will make the target overall. Not done good planning, and doing a lot of things.
Grateful for:
Being stood up on Sunday (10 am on the pier, absolute no-show) - and getting the flat cleaned instead.
Productive day at work.
