^^^^ Yes, basically Ambassador is Cruise & Maritime- but upgraded!

Many of the  stewards & waiters on C&M were eastern European but now the bulk are eastern (Thai, Indian etc) so the service is now with a welcoming smile rather than a surly grimace.
I noticed a big difference last year. Great improvement with menus in the restaurant too.
Had a really excellent cruise at a very moderate price- only muttering was that excursions had to be booked 'on the screen'- no books to check details. we survived!

have a look at this- just dropped into my inbox- solo deals

Thanks Katie......some good deals there.  I have taken a note of the agent for when I'm ready.  It wont be this year......I really must concentrate on finding a house and moving.

Totally understand your feelings about travel @[Deleted User]

I have been to various places over the years including Rome, Spain, Dubai. The only place I would like to see is the pyramids but I’m not sure I’m brave enough to go to Egypt. I don’t think I would ever go on holiday on my own. I think my sense of adventure has retired with me 😆

I am very much doubt that your sense of adventure has retired. Give it time!. Treat yourself. You deserve it.

I am expecting about £750 compensation in the next few days as the result of our original flight cancellation. I will distribute it as follows, £200 into my cash ISA, £400 to topping up some of the annual pots, £100 to my elderly relative as a treat, and the rest will pay for a new glass topped garden table for the gravelled seating area that cost £50.

I promise I won't talk bout cruising, but I just wanted to say that I feel the same way about travel now.  I really can't be bothered unless there is something that I really want to see.  We lived in the Middle East with our young family and travelled extensively from there and then we lived in Germany and explored much of Europe  and I have to say nowhere really calls us back.  We have a lovely home with a lovely garden in a lovely safe, friendly area and to be honest I think we are in the perfect place, nowhere else compares, although we often say we would like to be transported to an outside restaurant in Greece by a harbour for a meal and a few glasses of wine, but then be transported back home again.  I don't want to do it enough to be bothered with travelling there and back again.
  • @srn. Many thanks for your response. I have not travelled much. That is why I am confused.
  • Generally, feeling a failure across a whole spectrum of things at the moment.
