Mine matured last week and I had zero problems with interest, transfer, etc. I think some people might have been too quick closing the account?

I'm glad you had no problems. I wasn't so lucky and no, I didn't close the account "too quickly". It's NOT my fault!

Sometime you win sometime you lose. I still remember the double interest from VM.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that you had, I was just trying to find a reason for the difference in results.

Because I seem to like banging my head against a brick wall I called YBS again.

I explained that when I posted on here yesterday to say that I'd been told that complaints were handled in date order other posters reported that theirs had been dealt with quickly, and certainly faster than mine.

Now I'm told that some are prioritised.

Why some people's lack of receipt of interest and wrongful deductions of capital are prioritised and mine isn't a priority remains a mystery.

I was told in an earlier call that a request would be made to expedite my complaint.

Now I'm told that no such expediting can be done.

No time scale can be given for when my complaint will even be allocated to someone to look at it. The complaint will be allocated when it is allocated.

    Basically they couldn't care less.

Not sure how much this helps or when you raised your complaint but if they don’t respond within 8 weeks you can escalate to the FOS

I finally received my missing £159 into my current account today. Checking the YBS website they have credited the amount back to my closed account and then actioned a withdrawal to my current account. I really hope they sort out whatever technical error caused this mess in the first place.  :/

My loyalty regular e-saver account technically matures today but according to the email I got from YBS the funds will be transferred tomorrow?

However, its already been converted to a six access e-saver on line.

I only want to do a partial transfer - not a full closure - but based on the issues highlighted would it make sense to wait until tomorrow to request the withdrawal? Also is there a cut off time for next day payments with YBS e.g. if you request it after a certain time it might not be paid out until two working days later (e.g. you request it at say 9pm tonight - post the usual 8pm faster payments cut off - it would not credited to your other account until Monday?).

Useful to get clarity - given tomorrow is a Friday!

My experience of YBS is that withdrawals requested Friday appear in the designated bank account on the following Monday.
  • Just browsing the forum and saw this.
I have a loyalty reg saver which should mature on Sunday the 3rd September.

I assume once that matures they will automatically pay it into a low interest account (I do have other accounts with YBS).

So would I be best waiting 24/48 hours before doing anything in case they deduct anything?

I'm going to put part of it into a 1 year bond but a few days wait won't hurt.
