Knitted one row of a small heart, then had the urge to bake. I've made a Swiss roll and already eaten a slice and now have custard cream biscuits in the oven. I'd better stop there as there's only me and DH to eat them, and there's still a slice of chocolate cake from Sunday.Spend less now, work less later.7

It has tipped down here for much of the day, but Rosie and I had a 40-minute walk in the dry spell around 5pm. I finished my list except for going to Action Heart - I was too cold and tired and didn't have enough energy to walk 1/4 mile uphill in the rain from where I park.
Tomorrow I am meeting an old colleague for coffee and will then go to the gym. I haven't got to walk Rosie tomorrow.
G'night all xxx

Thanks for thread. Why am I always late? I could say it is because I'm so busy flying that I don't have time to post, but you'd know that isn't true.
Fayolle glad hospital was encouraging news.
So Tuesday is almost done, so it is summary time for the last few days:
- lots of rain and wildness Fri-Sat and a bit of Sun so the weeds are high but the French beans are plentiful. Lots of gardening done, mainly weeding and dead-heading, also harvesting French beans, tomatoes, lettuce and cucumbers. Broad beans and peas now all gone. Picked what will probably be last of rhubarb this year, also had gooseberries but they aren't plentiful this year; ditto red and white currants.
- lots of filling bird feeders.
- keeping up with zumba, swimming (now up to 2 lengths at a time of my new front crawl before collapsing into a length of breaststroke to recover), body pump and pilates. Today I priced a personal trainer with the thought of 4 sessions to plan for the aquathlon I've rashly decided to do in Sept; one of the trainers at the gym specialises in triathlons (which is well over-glamorising what I will be doing). However it is way too expensive to justify, so I need to be strong willed and plan for myself, never an easy task.
- last drum lesson this week for the holidays.
- all pay claims and reports for this academic year finished, sent off; a few bits of paper yet to file. Tax return making steady progress.
- Pile of clothes etc for CS getting bigger but bedroom still needs a bit more sorting.
- washing up, washing, food shopping and cooking have been achieved. Odd bits of dusting and vacuuming have been done, often by Mr N. Not too much stuff is in the wrong room/place, apart from my study which I'm looking forward to a real spring clean and sort once I've finished the tax return. So apart from the study, I wouldn't be too embarrassed if visitors descended on any of the house.
- quote for new conservatory grudgingly accepted as the one we had put on 30+ years ago has rot and leaks; not severely in either case but it won't re-grow itself so best bite the bullet before winter.
- Went to optician today for contact lens/glasses check. All OK except slight change in glasses prescription which is tedious as it is a reduced astigmatism change so will make a difference, so have ordered new glasses. Gulp. I usually order 2 pairs so I have a spare, but decided not to this year as it is such a relatively small change that if I break the new ones, the old ones will be fine for a while.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
bother…can’t thank posts as it jumps me back…i use thanks so i know what i’ve read and where i am.
4lbs+ blackcurrants picked. Jammed 2 2lb batches and open froze rest then stuck in a container. they can go in overnight oats. However picking them, then cleaning them then jamming them took all day, almost. Blind man came over an hour early…cue quick call to blood tests to see if i could go later, so all good.
i’ll put a list up in the morning…i’ve got side effects…just started.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning all. Hope the side effects have passed Valli.
Up early as I'm out for the day with friends. Unfortunately it's pouring with rain. Hopefully it will stop so I can take Poppet out first. I may flutter a little before going out.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.9 -
