I keep receiving automated email updates for this thread. There is no 'unsubscribe to thread'-type link at the bottom of the notification emails like there is for other forums. I have tried marking and unmarking via the Bookmark symbol at the top of the thread several times but the emails keep coming for each response.
I do not want to disable email alerts overall, just for this thread.
Can anyone please assist?0 -
Check your settings for 'threads I've posted in' - unbookmarking it won't help if that one is also turned on.King_Mustard said:I keep receiving automated email updates for this thread. MSE, maybe do a poll on this one too, to see if most users would or wouldn't prefer an option to switch off notifications on individual threads?Spoonie_Turtle said:

I am who I'm meant to be
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apology
THIS IS ME!

Within Profile > My Discussions, I can see the 'Bookmarked Threads' section but it's not in there, as I've already un-bookedmarked it at the top of the thread itself.
Being able to turn off automated email notifications for replies on a per-thread basis is a basic and fundamentally necessary feature, or I won't want to post in threads all over the forum due to being bombarded with emails. For most threads, I'll want to reply and either 1) manually check for replies or 2) not need to go back to the thread0 -
Perhaps it's a typo or I've missed your point @dealyboy but the link you've provided gives a link to a survey asking for feedback. 🤔dealyboy said:Two things ...
- I don't know of any other organization or operation as part of its change management would invite and publish feedback (and criticism)
- there is a survey page https://survey.alchemer.eu/s3/90589288/Feedback-on-the-new-Forum-look
Maybe the (hidden) reason is that they are waiting for the number of pages to get to 100
(sorry that's three things).
Surely most organisations would be interested in what clients think. Isn't that what focus groups and opinion polls (and populist government) is all about?0 -

Can anyone please assist? You can't do it. Once you've posted in a thread, and there's a reply, you'll get a notification forever.I once posted in the 'Spam' thread to report a spammer - ever since I've had daily notifications (well until the board upgrade) of anyone else doing the same.I once also posted in the haggling a better Sky deal - and left them over a year ago - and still getting notifications on that too.It would be good to be able to 'unsubscribe from a thread' - but that's as likely as finding a tin of tartan paint in B&Q.2 -
If you click the bell icon at the top right, there's a drop down menu of your notifications. At the top right of that is an icon like sliders and that goes to your settings for your notification preferences. In that list the right hand column below an icon like an in tray - those are the things you get email alerts for - uncheck the one for "New comments on posts you participated in". That should stop you getting email alerts of the nature you describe.King_Mustard said:

I have contacted forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com and basically explained I am being spammed with automated reply emails and that disabling reply emails for all topics is not a way to resolve it.cymruchris said:King_Mustard said:I keep receiving automated email updates for this thread. The cynical side in me (and I do have one
) thinks that in a sense the MSE management are waiting it out until we stop bringing up areas of improvement. We'll get to the stage where everyone is tired of repeating the same points of issue to the extent they can then say 'Ah well good all sorted - nobody else is complaining about anything - job done'. Then we all just have to live with it. I'd hope I'm wrong of course.
