maman said:I don't think it's so much wanting easy access to Latest Threads that's the issue @BooJewels. I'd say the majority of those that have commented lament the absence of Latest Posts.
Latest Threads has only 10 to a page and the number of posts/comments a thread has is miniscule.. I liked to be able to scroll down a longer list of Latest Posts and see quickly if it was a long running discussion.
And the big red blob continues to follow me around! 🤣
……..and why is it limited to only 10 per page? There must be a reason because, as far as I can see despite all the requests, there has been no response.9 -

Post numbers making a comeback soon? What about the quicklink as soon as you go near it with the mouse (in order to go to back button for example) half your screen is covered!4

Me too. Like just now, I clicked on this thread to read a couple of new posts, then to get back to where I was in my list of followed latest posts (that I'd had to navigate to) I just clicked 'back'.
It's the only way to actually get back to where I was a moment ago. If I've read more pages of a thread, I have to 'back' a couple of times.
If I'm missing a quicker shortcut - please do tell. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)4 -
I'm the same - using the back button far more than usual. On a computer, if you right click the back button, it gives you a drop down menu of about the last dozen or so pages you've visited and you can choose one from there, not just the previous one and at worst, you then need to refresh the page when you get there. Does a long press on a phone or tablet give the same function, I've not tried it?
Of course, doing this on a computer involves trying to avoid going over the quick links menu and getting that blasted drop down menu!6 -
I use the back button also... I guess they didn't do their market research.2

I think the new forum is very much designed for mobile use rather than desktop use.
The layout, the excessive white space and the daft pop-up stuff when the mouse cursor moves around are all dead giveaways (on a mobile there is no mouse pointer or mouse hovering, so no pop-ups).
Responsive web design is the key, but you still have to put some effort and thought into it. I don't know how this forum is funded or who designs and maintains it but it's clear they are not very experienced with modern web design. I think they have probably just taken a template and fiddled with it a bit without really understanding the consequences. The colour and font choices are all over the place.7 -

Hopefully with a lot of adjustments (not just bug fixes) the look will improve, but with the scale that's needed it will take time.
