Thank you for adding links at the bottom of pages back to the parent forum, I was really missing that feature. Not sure when it appeared - fairly recently I think - but just spotted it.
Ditto, much more convenient and saves a lot of time.  Thank you.
I came to this thread to comment on this very thing ... I don't ever recall seeing that facility in this (or the previous) incarnation of this forum (.i.e. a breadcrumbs trail at the bottom of a thread), so that's at least one positive to report. :)

I can't remember if I mentioned it but links in posts opening in the same page is *really* annoying, especially if you accidentally touch that area of the screen rather than actually choosing to open the link.  Extra frustrating when you're in the middle of typing a reply, accidentally open a link, you have to press 'back' to get back to the forum and what you typed so far has disappeared.

Agreed - 3rd party links should default to opening in a new tab. (I can understand MSE links, especially MSE Forum links, opening in the same tab).

Agreed. I presume you are talking about smartphones (I hate smartphones, everywhere I touch or hold is a button :# ) I guess people know that in Windows 'shift click' opens in a new instance and 'control click' in a new tab.

Yeah there are simple ways around it (long press on a touchscreen device, or right click on a mouse) but it requires remembering every time, and of course doesn't get round the accidental openings.

I can understand it but often links are posted for reference so it still makes sense to open in a new tab.  And links to non-forum MSE content open in a new tab anyway!

The old forum you got emails when someone posted on a bookmarked page, now we have no emails to update us I’m finding I’ve lost the reminder to comment/update and this results in a lack of debt payments for me

I'm sure there's lots going on in the background with the various teams beavering away :) It'd be nice to get another update though in terms of progress, ongoing issues, things that might still change, things that won't change - as it's been over a week since the last one (an eternity in the internet world).

My posting has reduced drastically since the update - and I get the feeling that posting in general seems low, with quite a few threads where someone has managed to ask a question who then don't come back (that happened in the past too - but without working notifications and so many clicks to get to where you need to be I'm not sure some of the less experienced posters are finding their original post, and are probably unlikely to know they've even had a response)

I'm still finding it challenging through:

    Not having notifications working
    The big drop downs
Not having a latest posts button anywhere
Having to click so many steps to find my old posts and then clicking on them individually to see if there have been any replies

On the plus side it seems quite a few things have been ironed out - but there still feels to be quite a way to go yet before it's even close to what we used to have. Here's hoping for both an up-to-date update - and a bit of continued progress in the coming week or so.

Not having a latest posts button anywhere

Go to latest threads click on recently created & then select recently commented.  I think that should get you there.  It works for me but I am on a desktop.
