Just out of curiosity, why would it take almost 2 weeks for the IT bods still not to be able to address the "no email notifications" issue?

I feel sad every time I visit (nowhere near as regularly as I used to) and find that there are still only 10 posts at a time showing in the latest posts section.  I used to pick up so much useful information on things I didn't even know that I didn't or needed to know, but now it is so much faff scrolling I just don't bother.  Such a shame that a useful resource has been messed up so badly.

For the forum Admin and/or the Vanilla developers:
The slow page loading may possibly be connected to the fact that more than one CSS is being loaded, each overriding the previous one?
Including the new forum style I've seen at least 3 CSS variants loading.
Of course it could be that the slow loading is being caused by something else and that's allowing the intermediate styles to be seen before the next replaces them.
eg. Today, on this laptop, this full width CSS is showing up and sometimes staying for about 30 to 60 seconds before the new forum style then loads.
It's not just this page in this screenshot, it's been almost every page that I have visited today shows this style although sometimes only briefly.

I've noticed that too, on my mobile.

A page part loads in a different font etc, then flips to what we eventually see.

Is this what's slowing it down? ☹️

The clickable double sided arrow by the side of the timestamp seems to be the same hyperlink as clicking on the actual timestamp, is there another benefit for that arrow?

I think that's maybe a visual clue (I think it's a chain link, not a double ended arrow) for posters that you can click there to pick up the URL to an individual post to link to it @HillStreetBlues

I was also about to comment about style sheets - it seems to be a new occurrence - either getting raw page content without the application of styling, or partial styling which then updates.  It seems to happen more on my tablet than PC.  I wondered if it was trying to load, say a desktop version of the site by default, then realised it was actually a tablet,  so then has to reload the right version.  It's not a fairly rapid, unnoticeable, transition - sometimes it sits there for minutes before it pops into place, other times it needs a reload.

I also had an idea - there's been a lot of comment about difficulty in using/accessing the 'Latest Threads' page - could this perhaps be added to the new breadcrumbs links below the posting window?  Thus:  Home > Latest Threads > Parent Forum.

If you dip into random threads from the Latest list, the parent forum isn't necessarily helpful, if you want to go back to the chronological list and see what else is new to look at.  Might cut down on a lot of additional clicks and server load.

I don't think it's so much wanting easy access to Latest Threads that's the issue @BooJewels. I'd say the majority of those that have commented lament the absence of Latest Posts.

Latest Threads has only 10 to a page and the number of posts/comments a thread has is miniscule.. I liked to be able to scroll down a longer list of Latest Posts and see quickly if it was a long running discussion.

And the big red blob continues to follow me around! 🤣
