Is there a way to avoid, or does it need a software correction?Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

It updates for me (on desktop and tablet), but not in a very useful way @MikeyPGT . For example, it just showed me your single post here - but now I've visited, that will (actually already has) drop down the list of notifications and the top item will then become there being 451 new posts here. Which if I were to click it, would take me to page 30 of this thread. It's the same with all notifications.1

OK with "forum host" hat on again. I'd suggest that the red highlighting of the Report button leads a normal user to think this post has already been reported:
I would prefer it just to be the normal colour of the other buttons, which I'm quite sure anyone could find if they wanted to report a post; the highlighting is unnecessarily eye-catching/distracting.1 -
My weekly MSE email is total nonsense (on my mobile).
Here's part of it:
mso-line-height-rule: exactly; line-height: 110%;} p
{mso-line-height-rule: exactly; line-height: 150% !important;}
body, table, td {font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif
!important;} .section__title {mso-line-height-rule: exactly;
line-height: 120% !important;} .section__subtitle
{mso-line-height-rule: exactly; line-height: 140% !important;} li
{text-indent: -1em;} body { width: 100% !important; min-width:
100% !important; margin: 0 !important; padding: 0;
Anybody else seeing the same?0 -
That appears to be a section of page styling code. (The programing code that tells an app how to display a page).It could be your email app not displaying the email correctly.
The 'mso' makes me think 'Microsoft Office', are you using either Outlook or Hotmail for your email?Sorry I don't have any email notifications set here, so can't say whether it's just you or not.

Am slowly getting used to the new format but still find navigation cumbersome. Three things I don't like:
(1) The rolling drop down menu at the top of the page that appears whenever it's hovered over and covers a large section of the page so you can't read what's underneath it. It should be a definite click to make this appear (I think someone else mentioned this earlier).
(2) The newspaper style front page - too busy, too many (large) photographs, doesn't add value. A simpler and less cluttered layout would be better.
(3) Would prefer the 'Mark All As Read' button for notifications to be at the top of the drop down menu rather than at the bottom. It took me ages to realise where it was!Be kind to others and to yourself too.4
