BooJewels said:I'm the same - using the back button far more than usual. On a computer, if you right click the back button, it gives you a drop down menu of about the last dozen or so pages you've visited and you can choose one from there, not just the previous one and at worst, you then need to refresh the page when you get there. Does a long press on a phone or tablet give the same function, I've not tried it?
Of course, doing this on a computer involves trying to avoid going over the quick links menu and getting that blasted drop down menu!0 -

The layout, the excessive white space and the daft pop-up stuff when the mouse cursor moves around are all dead giveaways (on a mobile there is no mouse pointer or mouse hovering, so no pop-ups).
Responsive web design is the key, but you still have to put some effort and thought into it. I don't know how this forum is funded or who designs and maintains it but it's clear they are not very experienced with modern web design. I think they have probably just taken a template and fiddled with it a bit without really understanding the consequences. The colour and font choices are all over the place.Success.vanillaforums.com1 -
Not sure if anyone is reacting to the suggestions etc in this thread but, here goes...
'Mark all read' in the notifications - Not Working.
No 'Mark all read' button for forum threads. I used this constantly on the old layout.
Not visually on point. Too much space to the right. On a large monitor it just creates acres of white.

I haven't read the whole thread, but is there any update regarding whether/if email notifications for discussions you have bookmarked, and messages will be reinstated?0

and has worked for nearly two weeks, but it does exactly what it says - it marks them as read by removing the "unread" dots (and the corresponding little red number on the bell in the header line). It does not delete them.

No 'Mark all read' button for forum threads. I used this constantly on the old layout. There is a "Mark All Read" feature for threads
... and it works. The only problem is you have to be at least "one level up" from the category you wish to clear.
For example, if you go into the "UK Holidays, days out & entertainments" category there is a subcategory for "Theatre, concert & events tickets" and you can mark everything as read in the subcategory as shown below:
To mark everything in the "UK Holidays, days out & entertainments" category as read you have to be in the main categories list https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories as shown below:
The requirement to be "one level up" is a pain - I see no reason why this can't be accessed from within the category itself - and this is the reason why users think the feature is not present.
You should also note that marking a category "as read" also marks all its subcategories "as read" at the same time.1 -

A tip for those posting on a desktop (don't use Android much) you can resize the photo/screenprints in your posts.
Once uploaded just click on the photo/screenprint and a box will appear around the photo/screenprint, move cursor to one of the little square boxes on the corners and the cursor will change, then left click and hold down and drag the photo/screenprint to adjust the size

Why does emboldening or underlining a word remove the preceding space, thereby adjoining it to the word immediately before it? Is there a way to avoid, or does it need a software correction? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
