Four things I like about the forum as it is now (access it on an iPhone mostly):

1   columns laid out like a newspaper make for fast, effortless reading (while agreeing with the comment above about using a laptop - one of the reasons I prefer using my phone)

2   the turquoise fills of the headings contrast well with the purple and red objects and, importantly, with the white font while still being easy on the eye (well, my eye)

3   the font is easy to read

4   if I take a break or answer a phonecall everything is still there when I come back (unlike a certain awful ‘social media’ site)

    would've . . . could've . . . should've . . .

That is what software packages are all about - upgrades to the latest version to provide new functionality, fix bugs etc...all normal.
I think a lot of posters are aware of what 'software packages are about'.

When an upgrade doesn't work and has to be reversed, it doesn't provide new functionality, fix bugs etc.
Don't you remember the last 'upgrade'?
Or could it be that the upgrade was not implemented correctly or tested before placing into the live environment.
I worked in package software for years, I have seen it all.
You mean like the last time?

That's why there are such a lot of 'negative' comments.
Those people 'saw it all' last time.
And are concerned that it might happen again.
I agree that upgrades always bring a certain amount of trepidation - hopefully lessons have been learnt!!

I haven't read all the thread, so unsure whether the ability to hover over a thread to see what the post is about has been mentioned.  But would be a useful feature.

Yep, those in their ivory towers always seem incapable of asking those who use it the most what is wanted and needed.
Failing to fully test it, as they fail to know how it will be used as they have no user input.

Then they have to roll back on updates after going live, as it doesn't work in the real environment.

I have 3 family members who are systems analysts. The first thing they ask of clients is what are the needs of the business. It seems perhaps the needs of those in mse towers are considered but the users of the site aren't asked at all AFAIK. ☹️🤔

Oh lawd - don't forget that the people who come here are looking to see the posts made, not look at a page full of dead space.
I reckon that about 10% (max) of a page is actual content.

Let's just wait & see what the changes mean.
No need to be negative before the changes happen.

There is no specific comment about emojis here? These are used in very specific ways e.g. on @cathybird’s NSD challenge, which has been invaluable to me and many others.
PLEASE if we do have emoji issues with the new systems, can they be prioritised for rectification after roll out?
