Scones have gone up in price for something quick and cheap to make. Bought ones have a nasty after taste. I use the old BeRo Flour recipe book and lard for making scones.9

I have spent so much this month on feeding GSs that I really must reign it in. Still have spends to update on signiture but I have been keeping track so will do that later. I think we have enough in freezer to last a couple of weeks without too much repetition. 2 meals out this week. (Birthday week) but they will come out of entertainment budget. Without this thread and all of the inspiring people on it I know that I would have spent a lot lot more. After 18 months DH is putting things back if he thinks they arent good value. I never thought I would get him on board so thanks again @elsiepac. You are a star. Good luck everyone. Hope you are all enjoying this beautiful weather.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £17.98 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

Popped into S@vers this morning & noticed their sugar is now cheaper than anywhere else I've seen recently, 89p a bag.
Stocked up as I'm making elderflower cordial, & it'll be jam making time again before long. KA9 -
£200 budget, £47.52 spent, £152.48 left.
Last NHS dental appointment today. From now on the only option locally is Denplan.
There is an incentive for cutting down on sugar and banning juice and fizzy drinks. The worse your care of your teeth the more you have to pay monthly.
I did a grocery shop at Aldi. Plenty of vegetables including salad stuff, mushrooms, some wonky or budget fruit, milk and a litre of plain Greek style yoghurt, bread flour, sunflower seeds and almonds, ground coffee (£2.59) and a medium tin of salmon for the store cupboard.
£27.82 spent.
Fish, and our rations of cheese, butter and meat will come from the freezer. I am trying to keep up to date with the abundance of fresh eggs. I like soft scrambled egg, made in a little glass bowl in the microwave, and eaten from the bowl. It is nice with a few reheated vegetables, a smidgeon of grated cheese, a bit of microwaved mushroom, or some yellow stickered smoked salmon.

Just done a long post then lost it when submitted.
In summary, I'm feeling much more in control.
Running total for June is £76/£600.
I'm on a 100 day no alcohol challenge so that should save a few £££, when I buy a bottle of wine I can drink the whole thing so am better off not buying any at all.
I should be getting some extra cash this month, the bonus from Nationwide and fees from the election working as a Poll Clerk.
There's a by election next week so an opportunity to earn a few more £ for the holiday in July.
I haven't used my credit cards since I joined this thread so thank you all, everyone who posts here helps keep me motivated

Welcome to the new joiners and hello the regulars!
Fairly quiet for this point in the month so I can only assume lots of people are outside enjoying the weather!
I always find spring/summer a more expensive time for food as it's a lot harder to bulk prep and I want lots of fresh salads and things!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old Style, Crafting and Techie Stuff boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know.
