£72 spent today. Stocked up on fruit and lunch bits for next week as I am going to start taking a home made lunch into work to save money (costing me over £60 a month at the moment 🤦♀️). Also bought store cupboard bits, coffee and toiletries for the week.GC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/108

Good morning All
Have I signed up for June already? I have absolutely no recollection. Just in case I haven’t, @elsiepacPlease set my budget at £142.50 for June
Thank you. We have £2.50 left from May, which I’ve included above. This budget covers all supermarket spending, including cleaning products and toiletries, and is to feed 2 adults. Our month started on 1st June and will run to the 30th.

Spent just under £30 today between Lidl and Aldi. Would have been more but some bits we needed weren't in stock. I'll try and get them tomorrow.
Trying to minimise spending on treats/snacks so upping my home baking. Choc brownies made last week along with an attempt at scones using a Paul Hollywood recipe from youtube. Today I've done crispie cakes. All bakes are separated our and some put into freezer for future use as there's only two of us.
OH is currently making today's dinner which is chicken balti pies (again from you tube - Mr Paul's Pantry), a big hit in our house. Smell coming from the kitchen is delicious.6 -
Hi everyone
@elsiepacI have decided to switch to complete months rather than straddle a month so that I am in sync with everyone else.
As I did a big shop at the end of May I am going to aim for £600 to 30th June.
I will probably increase that for July as we are going on a self catering holiday for 10 days (Weymouth) and so I will be getting some treats in.
So far this month I am £28/£600.
I need to head out to the Tesco Metro up the road later for some veg and I will be looking for ys veg to make some soups for next week.

£200 budget, £19.70 spent, £180.30 left.
Back after Covid. Very economical ten days not wanting much to eat.
£200 budget for June, increased a bit for convalescence. We might have a few lunches cooked at the local pub.
£19.70 spent at Sainsbury’s, milk, fresh fish, fruit and vegetables. We did well with yellow stickered fruit, and the large oranges were on offer.
17 eggs from our three hens this week, £14 from their egg money for 20Kg of Smallholders’ layers pellets yesterday. There are cheaper feeds but this gives good tasting eggs.

£44 spent yesterday, between the market & the bakery. Could have been worse, it's an "entertaining" weekend. I'll need to go down to L!dls/Makr0 early next week, but we don't really need all that much... probably!Angie - GC May 25: £74.30/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 21/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)5

Tempted ro do more shopping for grandsons lunches but decided to make do with rhe lectover bits. I toasted leftover bridge rolls with jam on. They had Cherry tomatoes cucumber, pepper and carrot sticks a pkt of crisps an apple and 2 bourbon biscuits each, Not necessarily the healthiest lunch but it filled their tummys and they have had their 5 a day. We take them home after breakfast tomorrow and then head on up to Watford to celebrate Granddaughters 2nd birthday. It has been such a fun week. I need to take, stock of the freezer before I go shopping again.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £17.98 spent, 102 made and 5 mended,

@[Deleted User] I still use the recipe in my school Housecraft exercise book for scones - it is quite similar to the Delia recipe, but uses block fat, not spreadable (cold for rubbing in!) and uses less sugar (and not golden, just regular cane granulated). What I mostly took from Delia though was not to twist the cutters or the scones end up risen on one side!
Today I have baked three loaves, one medium and two small, and a tray of Butternut Fingers (so easy, the most complicated bit is me lining the tin instead of greasing it, and weighing out the ingredients!) adapted to have less sugar by increasing the other ingredients and based on a recipe my Mum used to make as a teatime treat, back 50 or more years ago.
I have two chicken thighs I defrosted before remembering a party with food yesterday so I might cook those ahead of the cold sausage (leftovers) and hard-boiled eggs we have to use with the last of the shop-bought salad. I might curry them and use up some of last year's homegrown squash, still in the larder.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £2664.85 out of £6000 after March (44.41%)
