  • Congratulations 🎊 welcome to the savings club xxx
  • Thank you :)

I am tired today, even though I had an early night last night. I feel full of cold and I'm very achey which doesn't lead to a great night's sleep. I may have to nap this afternoon. Being up early did mean I was out to walk the dog early doors, I only have 2 more miles to go on the walkies for stand up to cancer challenge. I may do those this afternoon if I feel up to it so I can have a lazy day tomorrow.

I've made my PAD today, which included £3 to the sealed pot and £3 to the emergency fund. It was only supposed to be £3 to the EF but I was on autopilot for the sealed pot! I've now re-ordered the pots so that shouldn't happen again.  It's not a NSD for me today as I have a beautician appointment to get my brows and lashes done. Thought it would be a nice treat as I have been doing my own since lockdown!

Health wise, I have lost another 1lb this week, today's meal plan is cornflakes for breakfast, an air-fried sausage sandwich for lunch (hubby's request) and then dinner tonight is fillet steak with jacket potato and salad. I'll be snacking on fruit too so I get my 5 a day.

I managed to land on a Prolific survey before this update, didn't take long and pays out £2. I have £8 pending approval so will add that to the sealed pot once it's cleared.

That's pretty much it from me today. The weather looks lovely so far and I hope it stays that way.

OMG I keep forgetting to get the sponsorship details of your walk, I'll message you in a bit for the details so that I can sponsor you.

I hope you feel better soon and manage to have a nap. Enjoy the beautician's appointment, you deserve to treat yourself.x

  • Thanks Keedie :)  I am just back from the salon and I am pleased with the results, there's a little redness but I'm not going out until tomorrow so that will be fine.  It's 17 degrees here and hubby has got the garden furniture cushions out... I daren't tell him it's due to start raining in a few hours.

I got cash out for my appointment, so I have also filled envelopes 16 and 17 from the cash envelope challenge, I want to get it completed early to coincide with the sealed pot opening on 26th October (2 weeks before our big holiday)

Good to see you continuing your momentum on the ‘other side’ LMD. My equivalent of your beauty treatment is the Turkish Barber sliding the clippers across my monobrow when I’m having my haircut  :p
Well done with the continued weight loss. Slow and steady is the way to go.

  • Thanks AntoMac, hubby is off to the barbers shortly as we are off out for Sunday lunch with friends today.  Therefore it won't be a NSD for me. back on it tomorrow for a new month :)

We have now officially completed our walkies challenge and the dog is fast asleep on the floor at my feet, he will no doubt just snooze whilst we are out later.  Aiming to be back for the football, although it's not been a great run of results lately and I'm not holding my breath!

My PAD today was £3 to the EF, we still don't know if we can get a cheap holiday at the end of the month so I am being conservative, especially as I have the car and home insurance to pay for this month.  Hopefully we will know about the holiday in the next few days and will be able to finalise it, I have booked the annual leave just in case :D

Diet wise, I had cereal for breakfast and will be having roast chicken with lots of veg for lunch.  I picked up a crispy duck kit from the supermarket for us to heat up this evening, quick and simple after the footy. Not the best day diet wise, but everyone deserves a day off, and I do like my Sunday roasts.

That's pretty much it from me today. Have a lovely Sunday folks

  • Happy bank holiday! I'm off to visit family later so it should be a NSD, will report back this evening.  Hopefully we will know about the holiday tomorrow so we can start making plans either way.

Today's PAD was £3 to the EF plus the mortgage has gone out. Many DDs are due to leave the accounts tomorrow too, but then we should know where we are for the rest of the month.
    Have a great day!

  • Good morning! I'm off work today as an extended long weekend so a nice short week for me.  I have managed a couple of survey already this morning and had a nice leisurely breakfast (cereal :D) and a few coffees before I even got dressed!  Managed to cash £8 from Prolific so £11 has been sent to the EF today.

Yesterday didn't turn out to be a NSD as I went out for lunch with my sister (salad :D) but it wan't expensive and it was nice to catch up and spend some time together.  Today will definitely be a NSD though, nowhere to be and a lot of chores to be done. I will probably get some journaling done this afternoon and I also need to feed and water the herbs in the garden.

I thought I had over estimated the number of NSDs I can do in May but I might just squeeze it.... We aren't going on holiday now but I still need to save as much as possible and not get into a frittering habit.

That's about it from me, I hope you all have a lovely Tuesday
