Sending love & hugs to you & your family @apple_muncher. Pleased you have some time off work just now, take care.
NSD#14
Went back to bed after waking DS1 up for work, I'd had a broken night's sleep, so pleased I could nod off again!
Decided not to go for a walk after breakfast, DH is feeling under the weather this week, so wouldn't have been up to it. I emptied another compost bin into a border down the driveway, then decanted the full one into the two newly emptied ones. Cut the grass for the first time this year, then layered it up with some brown garden prunings. Shattered after all that, but pleased how much better it all looks. Was wearing a cap to keep the 'sun' off my face, & ended up banging my head quite hard 3 times! DH & DS1 both laughed when I told them.
Had a rest & put the TV on & did more of my rug. Had a long bath with my book & a face mask. Should sleep well tonight, after all the fresh air!
Grateful for time outside, a slightly neater looking garden (the whole plot covers 1/4 of an acre), good booksUse it up, wear it out

It has been so hot here today. Well, hot by my standards anyway.
So- I've done a few jobs around the house and in the "garden".
- Made chicken stock from the carcass
- Had a chicken salad (loads left still)
- Taken some pork chops out for dinner
- Himself got four packs of YS sea bream today. Doesn't help reducing the capacity in the freezer but it's so seldom it's available and I love it
- Had a long chat with my neighbour which has calmed me down just a little about my appointment tomorrow.
- Had a funny messenger call with a friend
- Lovely cousin phoned me from her holiday in Portugal
- Painted my nails
- Finished my series of "Slow Horses". Would thoroughly recommend it
- Starting a new series of detective novels set in my home town in 1946. Himself has read them and says I will love them
- Ordered a few things for Himself's birthday. I was hoping to surprise him with a trip away but unfortunately that is definitely not going to now. But I do have a tentative plan for late July or August. Fingers crossed. We both need some time away.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
Evening (just about) turtles
Woke up in the middle of the night as my aquarium filter was going crazy, poor fish must've had a right headache! Switched it off and went back to bed. Sorted first thing when I woke up, hopefully permanently!
Went to the gym first thing and worked out for an hour. Came back, got changed and went out to a local equestrian cross country event for a couple of hours. Got lots of steps in walking around the course. Decided to buy lunch while I was there. It was actually pretty windy so came home (via the shops for some eggs) and watched some TV, fell asleep for a bit and missed most of what I was watching. Have just had a lovely bubble bath with a small glass of wine.
Have had a really lovely Bank Holiday weekend, haven't done much compared to others but what I have done has made me happy and I've been able to have some quality me time, which I can't complain about at all! Back to the grind tomorrow.Save £3,000 emergency fund #79 - £2,073.28 as of 05/24

Today I am grateful for a quiet day, for reaching the necessary standards for my marking work, for getting a good session at the gym, for dates (the edible ones, not the gallivanting around ones), for the therapy of my needlefelting, for successfully de-heading a doll with dc.

A very vivid, bizarre dream, that when I saw the pupil at school, I felt the dream had actually happened! 🤣
Felt quite stressed throughout the day, a large blip in the middle of the day & worrying about DH & the lump under his arm Thankfully the afternoon was better, sat reading & started a new jigsaw with my pupil. Walked round the corner from school & bought some flowers for our neighbours, also had some sweets DS1 had been looking for for ages, & some DH had mentioned a little while ago too, but hadn't seen any for a long time.
Read some of my book to help me wind down. Did a sewing job after tea, just 30 pages to read now before I nod off 😊
Grateful for the bell at 3.30, sweets, finishing another bookUse it up, wear it out

Appointment went really quite well. A little bit of activity on the nodule which may or may not need treatment. Another CT scan in three months and we'll take it from there. Lovely respiratory physician. Gave me his phone number if I had any concerns.
So today I really have done virtually nothing. It was too hot apart from anything else- Four and a half mile walk to and from hospital
- Contacted my brother, etc
- Washed to bedding again. Hormone tablets are making me so hot at night
- Booked a little weekend break in the seaside town where the Boy's girlfriend lives. Easy to get too and we just need a wee bit of time away

That is fantastic @Toni'sfriend I bet it helps so much when the docs are nice too. Enjoy the weather (It’s been raining in Madrid for days!!)Busy day today, an NSD, exercise done but no frogs eaten. I have end-of-the-month frog fatigue…I am grateful for being able to work from

Went for a visit at the beginning of this month:
Make/maintain connections: This has been my difficulty and my focus. I have made a conscious effort to revisit friends and do stuff with acquaintances - who might be friends. Open the door, will start to set myself monthly invite/initiative challenges. As I lost friends, I will not replace them, but |I will open my heart and time to connect with people and honour their generosity. I have managed to not have money be a concern, but June will be a study in doing stuff yet spending almost nothing :-)
