Thinking of you & your family @apple_muncher. It is a difficult time for you all, but know you're in our thoughts. Rest when you need to x
A good day at work yesterday, got the washing hung out before I left the house & wrote the big monthly shopping list. Headed to town afterwards (waited 20 mins in a traffic jam, which is a BIG rarity on our island. The only time we have traffic lights is when there are roadworks, & these ones are in place for 16 weeks! Unfortunately, you can't get from one end of the island into the main town, unless you go this way!) Took mum to get some hair dye, then after tea I highlighted her hair. Looks good, she's pleased with it too. Wiped her bathroom ceiling down, then hooked my rug whilst watching TV. Had an early night, but we were both shattered!
Dropped some books off that I'd sold on a local pag, then did our food shopping. Had 10% off in L1DL, so thought I'd do my big shop a week early. Ended up saving £17 on mine & a few £ off mums too. Put it all away when I got home, a quick dinner, then headed out to the garden. Finished weeding round the pear trees & under the big Holly bush, then emptied out one of the compost bins & mulched the border. Started emptying another bin into the other one, but too windy. All the dust kept blowing in my face & eyes, so weeded a raised bed instead. Saw 2 Swallows sitting on our washing line 😍
Flopped on the bed & read my book, whilst testing my back, then added my spends to my budgets. After tea I hooked more of my rug & watched a film off the box.
Grateful for a lovely weekend so far, feeling relaxed, a sense of achievement, Swallows, other birds feeding fledglings in our bird boxes, reduced price blood orange flavour L1nd0r chocolateUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Thank you for all your kind comments. Mum died on Friday night, very peacefully. Big sis and I were both with her at the end - though she almost snuck away without us noticing! I'm back home now and very glad that this week is the half term break, so I don't have to see anyone much!

Hi turtles, here's my round up for May as i probably won't get around to doing it next week. Thank you all for pick and mixing!!
Magic and awe - I wanted to explore new places and read a lot in May. I certainly failed on the reading front. Explored Seville however... need to do better with going to new places in Madrid. Will make reading a focus in June.
Meal and everything planning - I have tried some new recipes in May and perfected my bread. Have done well on the batch cooking front. Let's not even talk about NSDs though!
Make and maintain connections - have made an effort to speak to different people at work, spent time with my sister and one of my best friends and have generally been making more of an effort with people in Madrid, went to aerial hoop practice yesterday with a friend and then for coffee after, which was lovely, and then spent the rest of the day with another friend... we ended up holed up in a bar as there was a torrential downpour outside, cosy and fun.
Did quite a few RAKS in May even if it was just letting people go in front of me at the supermarket, making bf his breakfast and "doing" him with the massage gun!
Munch frogs and elephants - this has very much been a focus for May and I feel pleased I have been pushing myself to eat the work frogs daily rather than them piling up towards the end of the week. Will try to keep it up and it should only get easier.
Grateful for the rain, for cake and cinnamon rolls, for a lazy Sunday and for managing to drag myself to aerial hoop practice yesterday.

I'm so sorry, Apple. I'm thinking of you and your family. Sending massive hugs.
Today I've done a zillion little jobs. Too many to list but the difference is amazing and making me feel that I've achieved something.
So chicken in the oven roasting, potatoes, stuffing ready to go in, gravy made and corn ready to heat through.
Have a good weekend. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -

@apple_muncher sending love to you and your family.
NSD 17? I think today. Got up early, cleaned the aquarium and then went horse riding. Very busy as they're prepping for the Derby next week. Went for a swim afterwards to loosen up. Came home, watched some TV, got some washing out and cleaned the bathroom. Then went for a walk, brought the washing in as it's almost dry.
All in all a satisfying day, got to spend time doing things I enjoy and spend time outdoors in the beautiful weather, plus ticked some stuff off the weekend to do list.Save £3,000 emergency fund #79 - £2,073.28 as of 05/24
