Compare the (meercat) market energy website for nosy neighbours
https://www.comparethemarket.com/energy/
With a postcode and a house number you can see anybody's energy consumption!
My neighbour is using 26.6k kWh of gas!? 3 people in a 4 bed modern detached, something amiss? £12k energy bill!?
Sorry just bored on a Sunday but I thought it might be of use for those that don't know how much energy they use.

I am not sure how accurate it is though, I have just looked up my home and their estimate and whilst my usage is with 10% of their estimate their calculation of my cost is nearly 50% higher and that is with me being on SVR.1

It's fun but wildly out for us. Showing usage 30% over our last 18 months usage
We used to use

I believe they take all historical usage on record and average it out so probably won't show reductions since the energy crisis.0 -
It can't handle Economy 7. It thinks my annual usage is costing almost £60000

It doesn't seem to work very well. Although it shows my tariff (EDF E7 standard variable) total consumption figure accurately (although it doesn't show the E7 day/night ratio) it estimates my annual cost about double what it really is.
I suspect it just guesses based on ofgems mythical ' typical user' 42/58% ratio, rather than the actual (which in our case is nearer 80% off peak). Or does it not incude the EPG?0 -

This link also does the same thing, I'm assuming data is from same source?
On my street of 14 houses, all 4 bed detached, gas usage varies between 16,000kWh and 36,000kWh per year, except ours which is 7,200kWh. We're only 2nd lowest electric though, beaten by a 92 year old lady who probably has no tech.
Not that I'm nosey

Had a play with the Meercat one, and while my usage was right, my tariff was wrong. It had me on a 12 month fix from Octopus, which I would have needed to start 6 months prior to becoming an Octopus customer. Oops.Edited for spelling.0

Yeah I wasn't putting much stock into the tariffs or costs as they had me with Eon (recently moved to Octopus tracker) but usage was fairly accurate for me
Meerkat doesn't require you to enter your email details whereas the other two seem to
36k gas!? And I thought 26k was high enough0 -
The other 2 might ask for emails but don't check they are valid, nothanks@hotmail etc. works fineBarnsley, South Yorkshire

Usage for me accurate enough, based on previous if not last, pricing out by 15%.
And really not sure about neighbours diff %.
But glad I'm not paying next doors bills.
