Hugo, Loop and Bright Energy Apps.

Thanks, I mainly want it to be able to check usage and have it clear and easy to understand in terms of cost, kwh and graphs. Essentially a app that will provide the same info or better than what a IHD does as my one no longer boots up... The Bright app doesn't seem to look as nice as Huge in terms of interface but I've not actually used either of the 2 as I believe you can only have a certain number of registries on the DCC I wanted to try and find the right one to use rather than go through a series of trials. Are you able to de-register someone form the DCC? Say for example if i signed up to Hugo and found Bright better, could I get Huge removed from my DCC?
At the moment I only have a Elec smart meter, Gas is standard so whilst I'm considering getting a gas smart meter, I ideally would like one that is the same shame/look as the standard one I have, not the smaller white box smart gas meter which unfortunately is all my existing supplier fits but I'd prefer to get a uniflo or fondian(?) smart meter fitted as believe they are better? So I believe Octopus it them so was considering a possible switch when my fix runs out if suitable tarrifs but could also go elsewhere if they fit them
Thanks

Are you seriously saying that you will not get a smart gas meter because you don’t like the look of it? I would be interested to see the statistics that you have seen that suggests that Uniflo or Floridan gas meters are better than, say, L&G or GWi. The main issue with gas smart meters is the HAN Connection with the comms hub: usually, associated with distance and metallic interference. I doubt that the actual meter makes any difference. My daughter had her smart meters fitted at the start of the year by an Octopus contractor. They fitted L&G electricity and gas meters. I am with Octopus and I have a Kaifa electricity meter and GWi gas meter.0 -
The guy who fitted our meters last year (we're with Octopus) was self employed and fitted for various companies. He lived locally and said he mostly took jobs within a 10-15 mile radius of home.
Both our meters are L&G.Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Solar PV 5.25kWp SW facing (14 x 375) Lux 3.6kw hybrid inverter installed Mar 22 and 9.6kw Pylontech battery
Daikin 8kW ASHP installed Jan 25

Bright is totally unreliable, The Standing Charge and Unit Charge is not right at all. I'm with EonNext0

Bright gets its information using its bespoke Adapter software to connect to the DCC Network. It then requests a data pull from each of your meters. Third-parties such as Bright can only extract 30 minute usage data. Only the designated supplier gets the 4 index readings for each meter.

Bright has been doubling my cost every Sunday since February for some strange reason but the energy used is spot on and weekly and monthly cost is correct. Just can't handle the Sunday daily cost, not sure why.0

Thanks
KevDepends what you want to do. I've been using Loop for a few months to do a quick occasional check and it's worked fine for that so I never bothered looking for something better. Having said that, this thread piqued my interest so I downloaded Hugo and I agree with @dunstonh comments in an earlier post comparing the various apps. IMHO the Hugo interface is orders of magnitude clearer and I'll be using it in preference to Loop in future. I haven't tried Bright yet.btw Loop had a very well managed Turn Down and Save scheme for those that weren't able to participate via their supplier so I'll be keeping the Loop app installed and checking my emails from them even though I on't be using the app as much (if at all).I think....2 -

Things have have improved since i was looking, I've not looked up/compared the latest versions etc.
Thanks

There's some big much anticipated improvements coming to Hugo, that some people may be interested in: -
"It's coming...
We will launch many new features in the next four weeks. Whilst some of these features are top secret, we will release the following:
> Same-day data
>Input of Evening/Weekend Tariffs and all Octopus Tariffs
>New GAMING section allows you to complete energy missions to access limited edition gifts from the HUGO gift store.
But our biggest launch this summer will be the most innovative and exciting thing we have launched, remains under wraps for now."
They've also been unofficially talking about the possibility of beta testing opportunities.......
