Only used Bright, dont see what it offers over the standard Octopus app personally.

I guess its useful for those with a supplier who has a rubbish app?

The E.ON Next app is very limited and is at least two days behind.

I do like the half hourly chart on Bright and that it is only three hours behind, currently showing up to 10:00 am today.

I learned that yesterday's vacuum cleaning consumption was much higher than expected. I may now not go over the same bit of carpet three times back and forth!

I have been viewing my data on Hugo and Loop and the daily electricity usage looks to be consistent with my records.

However both are showing virtually no electricity usage on 4th and 5th April. My IHD and E.ON Next app are showing the correct usage.

It seems strange that just these two days from the whole year to date are incorrect.
Bright is now showing 4th and 5th April correctly. Loop and Hugo are still incorrect. I cannot recall if Bright initially showed a blank on those days.

I do though recall the E.ON app showing odd data on the week around those days. I suspect it was something to to with the 1st April rate change a) for the EPG and b) for me coming off a fix on 31st March.

Whatever the cause of these issues, Bright does appear to be way ahead of the others on a number of counts.

I am finding the data refresh on Bright is somewhat inconsistent. Sometimes it is only an hour behind real time but now for example it is only showing up to 12:00 Midday.

I know it will be dependant on the DCC updates but was interested the know what others were seeing.

The DCC does hold any data: it is a pass through service. Suppliers and third-party apps attempt to pull data directly from your meter. The most likely reason for a delay is DCC network congestion as installers attempt to commission smart meters.

    Thanks.

Did you mean to say the DCC does not hold any data?

Did you guys buy the Display & CAD to be able to use the Bright app?
Is the bright app any good, looking at the screenshots, it looks like Huge has the better interface? but not tried it myself but not too sure about giving huge CC info to get signed up as they a newish company as well.
Not sure which app to try as my IHD was working fine till i switched supplier, then it just shows everything in the red all the time - even with  nothing on apart from standard items i.e. fridge etc. and although i played around with it at xmas tried setting budget to £20 a day, resetting etc - all still resulted in Red, even after leaving it couple of weeks and now unfortunately the IHD doesn't boot up, it comes up and then just gets stuck and doesn't load fully so I've switched it off and placed in a cupboard so looking for an alternative solution, one which will hopefully work ok when changing suppliers.  Only have SMETS2 Elec meter, Gas is still non-smart at the moment, although may change in the future.

You don’t need to buy a Hildebrand IHD/CAD to use Bright. Bright sign up requires your MPAN and the GUID from the bottom of your IHD.

An IHD and Bright will only show the correct costs if the supplier has sent the tariff information to your smart meter.
