Thanks, i thought if you bought it, it would be "real time" or maybe i' wrong...
If you buy the £70 IHD/CAD it is as near real-time as you will get. I have the Octopus Mini (free) that updates the Octopus App every 10 seconds for electricity and every 30 minutes for gas - that is, it is similar to an IHD but via an App. The Mini takes its data from the HAN and transmits the data via the Internet to the Octopus Cloud server. The App updates from the Cloud.
My temporary, crude, almost embarassing but effective solution to real time energy monitoring on my smart phone at the moment is a Tapo camera standing on my desk pointing at the IHD and solar panel generation displays.

Considering pulling my cheap Chinese web cam out the tech draw lol
My 2 year fixed rate tariff ended yesterday and to my surprise, my EDF smart meter was showing the new tariff day and night rates when I woke up this morning. Even though the Bright app is pulling usage from today after a couple of manual refreshes it's still showing the old tariff rates which is a bit disappointing. Maybe it needs 24 hours to update?
I am on a TOU tariff and bright have been 1 hour out since the hour change, not sure if it is their end or whether EDF have not sent the right info to the smart meter, is ther anyway I could check without being awake reading the meter between midnight/5AM?
