Do you really want to share the location of your house on a public forum?

It's going on Ipswich Borough Councils website soon, I can't really see the difference.

My address isn't actually on it. (now, thank you)

Our 8 year old heat pump is noisier year on year even with servicing. Wonder what the noise creep is.

However both next door neighbours have heat pumps and the ones behind have GSHP.

I wonder if the neighbours opposite can hear a loud background hum. An orchestra of heat pumps.
Bearings on fans. Motors etc. Will all make more noise as they get older & parts wear.

    Probably.

What is the answer when governments want us to stop burning fossil fuels?

I don't know the answer but maybe we have to get used to a different way of living. At least heat pumps are generally going to be working hardest when it is coldest and most of us are unlikely to be having windows wide open.

My whole Planning application.. including all share details is publicly available via councils planning portal.

Maybe make the most of the PP and add a few air cons to the application., I'm not entirely sure how long the permissions last.

It could be during a defrost cycle that the noise is at its highest. I had two Daikin A2A heat pumps and they got much louder during a defrost cycle and got progressively louder as they aged.

    Could well be.

I'm not sure if we will ever find out.

Right now I am tempted to forget it and cut my losses.

If I carry on with the planning application I could end up falling out with neighbours over it and I really don't want that.

The OP shared their home address I thought it was right to bring up and now they have blanked it out.

Obviously you don't need to be Sherlock Holmes given the details the OP has shared over various posts of what area they live etc but no need to give it all away instantly.

I don't blame you, especially as you have a fully functioning gas boiler. Sounds like way too much hassle and capital outlay to me.

Yeah, I failed on that, meant to obscure it!
