I hope everyone is well.  Have tried to catch up on posts, but there have been quite a few since I last visited.

Sorry I've been absent for a while - have not been feeling well.

Had a gain of 1.5lb at WI last Thursday, so wasn't happy.  This was rectified though, as I went for a Reiki session straight after and felt great.

I go to a meditation group on a Wednesday night (with the lady that did my Reiki).  She is lovely and about 3 or so weeks ago, one of the other ladies who attends, lost her daughter to Cancer.  She was only in her 20's and she was diagnosed on the Saturday and died the following Wednesday :'( .  It was very aggressive lung cancer.  Over the last few months she had been having chest problems, but I think doctors kept on telling her she had a chest infection. I believe that on the Saturday she was diagnosed, she collapsed and couldn't breath. So sad.  I don't know the ladies' daughter personally, but this did really affect me, as not long after, just after the Easter weekend, my own daughter got admitted into hospital with some kind of virus.  Luckily she's much better now and gone back to work.  So I can't begin to imagine how this lady is feeling at the moment.

I guess I have been feeling a little sorry for myself.  Hubby isn't well either at the moment and has a really bad stomach.  He won't be able to go into work tomorrow, as he drives for a living and there's no way he will get to a toilet if he gets stomach cramps.

I need to get myself back on track - don't want to go into group with another gain this week!

    Speak soon xx

Morning all, have a few things to do and sort out this morning.  First thing blood tests for us both for a cancer research trial which is in the next town.  Then back to the GPs to make appointments for both DH and I as they tried to call us while we were in Gambia!  I emailed to say that if it was urgent then to let me know as very expensive to accept or make calls (£2 a minute!) but just got a text back saying make an appointment asap on return.  DH had a letter to say make an urgent appointment.  No idea what's going on as we both had a telephone call the day before we left for our blood test results.  The only thing we can think of is that not all the results came back before that call.  Still we'll find out soon enough - will need to be later today or tomorrow as we're off to Scotland on Thursday and no idea where we will be from day to day!  Otherwise it's going to be another week.

Sorry to hear you've had a bad back @maman but also glad the painkillers have helped with that.

@annabanana82 - that is so sad about that lady's daughter, she was no age at all.  Do hope you can get yourself back on track and lose that 1.5lb gain this week.  All you can do is do your best - I'm sure it will come off soon.

Well done on the losses @beanielou and @annabanana82.

The lamb roast was lovely yesterday - it's the first roast we've had for a few weeks!  No roasts available in Gambia!

    Today's plan:

B - Weetabix with milk - HEA; HEB
L - sweet chilli noodles with LO roasted veg and peas - S; F; 3
    D - shepherds pie (using LO lamb), veg - P; S; F

    HEA1 & 2 - milk
    HEB - Weetabix
Syns - Sweet chilli sauce 3

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all,

    Sorry for the radio silence!

Well done to @annabanana82 and @beanielou on your losses - great stuff.

Shame about the titchy gain @Jellybaby but just enjoy having your boy home xx

So sorry that things are tough right now @TakeItEazy x Well done to your son on his job news though, that's great x

Hope you are doing okay @maman and that your back is improving x

The sponsored walk was lovely - we had great weather and some good views of the Kentish countryside. It was 10k, so a lovely distance. I had lunch at DSis' house then I bought DDad home here. He is doing well so far!! Took DS2 back to uni in Canterbury yesterday and had lunch at ASK. I had the warm chicken salad with a coke zero. A bit of dressing on the salad, but negligible.

    Today's food:
    B - mango chunks, 1 x WM toast, poached egg - free, 1/2 HEB, P
L - grapes, pineapple, tuna, ltl mayo, crabsticks, salad, tomatoes, pickles - free, P, 0.5, S
    D - SW chicken biryani - free
    HEA - milk
    1/2 HEB - skinny bar
Syns - 0.5 but possible a mullerlight after dinner so 1 total

    Have a good day all.

Morning all.  In the office today but no one is sitting in my bit so taking the opportunity to sneak on while I can.

Sorry to hear about the stresses at the moment @TakeItEazy but congrats to your son on his new job!

Well done on the losses @annabanana82 and @beanielou

Good to hear you had a lovely holiday @joedenise and hope it's nothing too serious with the Dr's!

Hope your back starts to feel better soon @maman

Hope you have lots of good times with your dad @Coxy11

Bit of a weird weekend; book club on Friday night, had food poisoning Saturday, recovered Sunday and then did a 10 mile walk yesterday 🤣  which all resulted in a maintain this week.  Was really hoping for a loss as I'm so fed up with just yo-yoing up and down and like others have said, some clothes are starting to feel a bit tighter than I like.  Oh well!

Had granola, milk and mixed berries for breakfast before I legged it out the door to the station, lunch is a mixture of veg crudité and some red pepper hummus and then dinner is a vegetable bibimbap thing with rice as need to use things up before we go away next week.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Back from blood tests and GP surgery.  DH has a telephone appointment for this afternoon.  Apparently my 3 calls whilst on holiday were "in error"!  Really!  I asked them to put a note on my record to show that I had actually tried to make an appointment as don't want to get a text or letter in a week or 2 saying why hadn't I made an appointment yet!

DH's call is about an Xray he had done shortly before we went on holiday so will find out what that's all about later.

Oh dear @joedenise, my GP was sending me warning letters because I hadn't booked a screening appointment they wanted me to have, but soon changed their tune when I pointed out that every time I tried to book the appointment they wanted me to have, they told me that they were fully booked 😂 Fingers crossed your DH's appointment goes well too.

Change of plan for lunch… realised I had a 12.15pm meeting - meant to be 45 mins but I managed to get it down to 20 (yay) but needed to be back for 2pm managers meeting. Whisked DDad off to the town so I could post my parcels and he needed a newspaper and a couple of birthday cards. He also wanted to change some old £20 notes at the bank. We just about made it back in time for me to make him a quick sandwich and cuppa. I bought a pot of roasted veg couscous whilst out which I've only just eaten! Need to be more realistic about his walking speed lol! Doesn't help that he walks forwards whilst looking over his shoulder - worst than having a toddler!

Ooh we have the new text editor I see - another bit of tech I have no idea how to use 😅

Had a short trip into work this morning, then home to catch up with son who is home due to teachers strike. He'd been set work that he completed at 9:30 not impressed.

    Food for today

B: overnight oats 1/2 hex b mixed fruit.

L: naked rice pot 2 syns, muller yoghurt .5 syns.

    D: gammon, Jersey royals, broccoli,

cauliflower and leeks, cheese sauce hex a

free (If the cheese sauce works)

Snacks: apple, plums, hifi (hex b)

    Total syns 2.5 so far.

I don't like this text editor my cursor keeps jumping way down the screen. Most frustrating

Shame about the STS @ruby_eskimo. You'd have thought food poisoning would help! 🤣 Hope you and @Abbafan1972 get back to losing ways very soon.

Yes, I noticed the new text editor too @annabanana82. Why???

I'm feeling much better today. A bit sore and woozy after the medication but pain has gone. 👍

Glad you enjoyed your sponsored walk Coxy11 and your dad being with you (but not for the walk 🤣).

It's still a real rigmarole with the NHS around here too @joedenise. DH has gone off in the car to try and track down his medication by trailing around local pharmacies. We have one attached to the GP but they're useless. ☹️

We woke up this morning to find water was off. A main had burst locally. It came back on at 1.30pm. Fortunately I had some bottled water in so we managed

I've had SW breakfast (porridge and fruit) and usual LOs for lunch. We're out for dinner tonight but I have 40+ syns left so shouldn't be a problem. 😁
