I just bought Ocado potatoes @bubbs. At 30p a 1.6kg bag it was well worth it. And some conference pears that DH likes as they're hard as hell anyway! 🤣

Morning all, think it's going to be another scorcher today - it's already really warm.

My DH likes those hard as hell conference pears too!  I much prefer the much softer Williams ones.

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up - P; S; F; 2
L - SC pork and apple sauce sandwich, pickles - may even try the tomato and chilli jam I made yesterday - no idea what it'll be like but looking at it I think the onion could have been diced a bit smaller! - HEB; P; S; 2.5
D - spicy butternut squash and chickpea traybake - P; S (from SW website).  This will use up quite a few of the tomatoes that are sitting in the fridge!

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
Syns - sausages 2; apple sauce 0.5; low fat spread 2

    Have a good day everyone.

Hope you enjoy the chilli jam. I meant to ask how the pork worked out in the SC @joedenise. How does it compare with slow roasting?🤔

Scorching here too. I heard today was the peak day and then it'll get a bit cooler and more comfortable as the week goes on. 🤞🏼

    Today's EE plan-
    B- HEB porridge, HEA1 milk, strawberries (S), banana (F)
    L- ham, egg (P), bubble &squeak (F,S), beetroot S)
    D- chicken supreme (P, S, HEA2 cheese), SW chips (F), green stuff (S)
    Syns- weekend wine😁

Cooking the pork in the SC certainly meant that the meat was really tender because I didn't cook it for 10-12 hours you need for pulled pork it didn't just fall apart and could be sliced.  It certainly went a long way!  We had it hot, cold and finished off the last of it with a sandwich each today for lunch.  Not bad for a YS piece of pork for £4 something!

Definitely still really hot here so staying indoors as it's cooler than outside in the garden as we don't have any shade unless we get the umbrella out and quite honestly can't be bothered when it's actually too hot to sit out in anyway!

Well done on your loss @bubbs. 👏👏👏 You seem to have had a few lately, far better than what seemed like months without any. 👍
