    Morning all,

Well done on the loss @beanilou

I joined you with the chicken kebab last night @joedenise (I was starving and ate the huge pitta, still need to check the syns 🙄)  was checking on parents and got caught up with sorting something else out so was really late when I headed home, well that's my excuse!

Another WFH day and two online meetings have been cancelled, not a bad day so far.

    Today's food:
B - bran flakes (HEB), f/f Greek yoghurt, strawberries
L - baked potato, cheese (HEA), salad
D - chicken curry with rice

    Have a good day all!

You've got a lot on your plate (excuse pun😉) @Jellybaby. I think having to sort out the parents (again!) easily explains going off plan when you're really hungry. The app tells me that a large, white pitta is 11 syns. You should easily be able to claw that back before WI, it's not even a day's syns. 😁

Hope your eye isn't giving too much trouble and clears up as quickly as the last one @joedenise

Another super day here. It's great to have an extension to the summer.

DH won't be home before I have to go out for my dance class tonight so I get to have one of my favourite dinners. Its a bit extravagant putting the oven on for just one person but I'm worth it! I really must sort out an air fryer though. 🤔

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, scrambled eggs (P), HEA milk for drinks
    L- ham (P), fried veg and pickles (S), 1 potato (F)
D- fried eggs (P), SW chips (F), mushrooms and tomatoes (S)
    Syns- 0

Thank you @beanielou and @maman - pleased to say the eye is a bit less blurry today and I can actually see the laptop by enlarging the text - my reading glasses are next to useless at the moment!  I have made an appointment for another eye test and new glasses but the optician I want to see is on holiday in New York at the moment visiting his brother and won't be back until 23 October so I've made an appointment for 24 October as I'll be in the right town that day as it's a Tuesday so will be able to get anything I need from Iceland with the 10% off assuming of course they have what I want which they didn't today!  They had no lamb shanks and no 5% mince both of which I wanted, didn't even bother to look to see if they had any smoked haddock which I was also going to get as the mince is part of the 3 for £10 foods.

Enjoy your egg and chips @maman!  I'm quite lucky in that respect as DH is also happy to eat that but it's something I tend to forget to put on the menu plan!  I've had to make some more changes to this month's plan apart from today's lunch!  I've got a shoulder of pork joint which I was going to SC in BBQ for pulled pork but DH has just informed me he's not keen on it but he's happy to have it done in the SC without the sauce so I'm going to cook it on a bed of onions with some water which I'll turn into a gravy for him at the end.  He's also cut a couple of chops from the end so we'll be having that tomorrow night and then the SC pork on Thursday but I'll reheat that in the oven to try and crisp up the crackling and do some roast potatoes and veg.

Good news about your eye @joedenise. It's no bad thing that you have to wait for your preferred optician as it'll give time for everything to settle.

My DH just doesn't eat eggs. He's not allergic or anything and I use an egg to bind meatballs or coat KFC. I sometimes do us sausage, beans and chips which he does enjoy.

I use Jamie Oliver's recipe for pork shoulder on a bed of onions, celery, garlic and carrots. It's delicious but 2 hours in the oven. ☹️

@maman - The recipe I found for cooking on a bed of onions worked out to be nearer 3.5-4 hours in the oven which is why I decided on the SC!

Is there any reason why you couldn't have egg when you do sausage, chips and beans rather than having to wait until your DH is out!
