Morning all,
Hoping for a nice dry day today as DD has washing to do. It's another WFH day. Boss is off this afternoon, or at least that's the plan, so I expect this morning will be busy.
We are off hiking again next Friday and whatdya know ASLEF are striking so our plans to travel from Kent to Lancaster by train are scuppered. I spent most of last night messaging DSis to work out alternatives, so we are now booked on a Megabus (I could weep) from London to Lancaster during the day on Friday which takes 7+ hours. Because of no trains on Friday we have to stay overnight in London on Thursday, so I've booked an easyHotel too. These together cost more than the original trains, so I'd better get a full refund or I'll be really fed up. This means we don't get to Lancaster until 3pm and we then need to walk the first 10 miles. Bus drops us at Lancaster University which is 3 miles south out of town. This will be another entry in our book under the chapter heading "you couldn't make this stuff up".
The sweet and sour chicken was nice but I didn't like the vermicelli rice noodles at all - just sloppy and yuck. There's one full portion including noodles, plus a portion of just chicken and veg left over. I got a bag of casserole veg from Olio a month or so ago and froze it, so that plus a half bag of shredded greens is going to be made into soup today. DD says it's like Charlie Bucket's cabbage soup! If it's edible I may have this for lunch - because I'm a sadist.
Food today:
B - weetabix choc melts, strawbs, blueberries, mullerlight vanilla - HEB, S, 0.5
L - veg soup....
D - Grilled pork chop, sweet potato wedges, cabbage, carrots - P, Free, S
HEA - milk
Syns - hi fi bar 3 plus 0.5
That's good news for your DMum @bubbs xx

Morning all, much better weather this morning, think I'm going to have a look to see if I have enough washing to make up a load as the basket is quite full already!
That's brilliant news for your mum @bubbs, so pleased for her. It was the same for my mum because she only ever worked part time but not even enough hours to pay the half stamp so had no pension in her own right.
The cheesecake looks amazing. Can see why your DH likes it.
Today's plan:
B - scrambled eggs, spinach on toast - HEB; P; S
L - French bread pizza, chips - HEA2; S; F; 8.5 (eek!)
D - HM faggots, mash, broccoli, cabbage - P; S; F; 1
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - demi baguette 8.5; Ryvita (in faggots) 1
Have a good day everyone.
