joedenise said:Just checked that gin on the website as the other alcohol free gins are 0.5 syns for 50ml! I wonder why that flavoured one is Free - no rhyme nor reason with SW! I've got a Gordons alcohol free Gin with a diet tonic. I quite enjoy a couple of alcohol free G&Ts for 0.5 syns - just as enjoyable as a real one. I've tried the ordinary Tanquery free gin but have to say I much prefer the Gordons one.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.201

Morning all.
@bubbs - glad everything went as well as it could and that you had a what sounds like a lovely day to celebrate your DD's birthday. I'm really craving a roast / carvery now!
@SingleSue - hope you got some answers from the clinic and are starting to feel better. Well done for sticking to plan at Formula E too!
@TakeItEazy - hope the hospital can sort out the fistula for your DH. My uncle's had so many issue's with his over the past couple of years, they are tricky things to manage. But I did laugh at your Del Boy moment 😆
@Coxy11 - sorry to hear about your dad but good that he has an appointment sorted for when he's back. Let's hope he gets the treatment quickly over there.
@maman - belated happy anniversary, sounds like a lovely day and agree it's the law to at least have chips when you go to the seaside!
@Mrs_Ryan - good luck with the weigh in this week. I also buy most of my clothes on vinted (before that it was ebay). Need to have a good clear out of my own soon but that can wait till I get back from holiday.
@joedenise - good to hear you had a nice weekend away and I also don't understand the rhyme or reason when it comes to SW sometimes. Think it's why I only loosely follow the plan now.
@maddiemay - I also weigh myself most days, but then I'm a data nerd so I like to go by averages over the week to track where I am.
If I missed anyone, I apologise! I'm also joining the gainers with 1.5lb on this week but that's because I've been very very stressed and anxious and eating way more food than I need - yes some chocolate and biscuits but it's mainly the general volume of food and just eating because I need something to do that isn't crying! Anxiety is sky high and I'm always stressed before I go away but I think it's amped up this time because this is the start of a very busy few months (I literally have plans every single weekend between now and December 😳😳😳😨😨😨)
So this morning I went for a run - not my fastest but I didn't stress about all the things I needed to do and actually feel a lot better for it 👍 Breakfast was ff yogurt, muesli and blueberries, lunch is a ham salad that I prepped yesterday and dinner tonight is a Gousto meal of Sicilian meatballs with cheesy potatoes and rocket.

Morning all, a lovely bright and dry day today so have a machine load of washing done and out on the line - need to have breakfast shortly so that's a bit later than usual - we generally eat around 8am. Not much planned for today although I need to get in the motorhome and give the loo/shower room a good clean and wash the floors. They felt a bit sticky over the weekend so think something must have been spilt and I didn't realise at the time! I did give it a wipe over with a floor cloth but it needs a bit more than that!
You definitely sound very busy over the next few months @ruby_eskimo with something every weekend! I think we all stress before holidays - have we sorted out money, have we got passports, tickets etc etc but you'll forget all that once you're actually away. Just go and enjoy.
Today's plan:
B - cheese omelette - HEA2; P
L - bacon and tomato sandwich - HEB; P; S (was going to be BLT but the lettuce had to be binned as it looked manky after the fridge going off over the weekend!
D - LO chicken; chips; beans - P; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - butter 3.5
Not much Speed there but will be having the usual fruit and yoghurt this evening which will up the amount quite considerably!
Have a good day everyone.

Getting out for a run was probably the best thing you could do @ruby_eskimo. It'll be a relief to get away and start to relax. Don't worry about the gain, just focus on enjoying yourself. 🤗
When I started SW I used to make a point of eating some fruit (usually satsumas because they're easy ) as a snack if I'd had a low Speed meal @joedenise. Now I tend to just average the Speed across a day rather than worrying about each meal. Most of my lunches and dinners are 50%+ Speed so it balances off some breakfasts when I have none at all. Glad to see the chicken wasn't ruined, losing a few leaves is much cheaper. 🤣
I used to work out of an office that was around the corner from a carvery @bubbs and ate there with colleagues after work sometimes. I learned to quickly bypass the gigantic Yorkshires, take the meat then fill my plate with veg to leave as little room as possible for roast potatoes. Carvery can be a fairly SW friendly meal but as you don't eat out too often and it was a special occasion I wouldn't worry. Sometimes, life just gets in the way. 😊
🤞🏼 for a good result at WI this week @SingleSue and @MrsRyan .
Back on plan today. We're going to a funeral tomorrow. There is a reception afterwards but it's in one of those woodland cemeteries so no idea what to expect as never been to one before. Wednesday will be back on plan and then Thursday I'm going to a tea dance to celebrate a friend's birthday with afternoon tea laid on which is likely to be all cakes and sandwiches.
Todays EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk, bacon, egg (P), baked beans (F)
L- LO chicken casserole (P,F,S), beetroot (S)
D- fishcakes, SW chips (F), green stuff, mushrooms, tomatoes (S)
Syns- Morrison's fishcakes 20 -
@maman - we just enjoy a bowl of fruit and yoghurt in the evening so I tend to buy 3 or 4 different small fruits like strawberries, blueberries etc just to have in the evenings. If we have fruit during the day it tends to be an apple, an orange or a stone fruit. We usually have veg with our evening meal but when we have chips it tends to be beans and no veg unless I decide to fry some tomatoes and/or mushrooms but not very often!
Not had a carvery for ages but agree they are very SW friendly as long as you fill your plate with meat and veg so as not to leave much room for potatoes and yorkies - I usually leave the yorkies and just have a couple of roast potatoes.
Hope the funeral goes well tomorrow and that the reception after isn't too non-SW especially with having an afternoon tea later in the week. At least you haven't got to go to WI this week.
I've totted up my syns for this week and even with the off plan meals estimated syns I'm well inside 105 - I'm at around 70 with only the rest of today and tomorrow to go. I always have a mushroom omelette before going to WI on a Wednesday but not even sure whether I'm going yet! I think my eyesight is OK to drive and to be honest I'd rather go this week to get it over with as meeting up with our (boozy) friends at the weekend again!

Afternoon all
Grey old day here. I’ve reactivated my gym membership though and I’m hoping to go tomorrow. Off for a walk up the giant slope in the village this afternoon. A sneaky peek at my own scales has indicated a v. pleasing result! I’m trying to lose as much as I can before my week away next month.I’ve spent a stressful morning trying to sort the insurance out- insurance company made a mess of the policy (not the first time) so I had to call them to sort it. Which hopefully they did. Also spoke to the doctor’s surgery to let them know about the woe of my arm. I spoke to my favourite receptionist (she once calmed me right down when I was having the panic attack of the century by chatting about the most inane things) and she was lovely and very sympathetic. I know there’s nothing much I can do but she was happy to pass on the feedback and cancel my appointment.Today’s menu:
Brunch: Scrambled eggs with a splash of HEXA, brown rice (2.5) veg. Raspberries, blueberries, fat free natural Greek yoghurt and a little bit of Choc Shot Orange Spice (1 syn)
after WI- small ham pasta salad with HEXA Laughing Cow Light; 2 x HiFi (HEXB)
Dinner- SW ready meal (I think it’s one of the noodles ones) and veg; Dairy Milk Little Bar (5)
Syns: 8.5
Have a good day all xx*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
@ruby_eskimo so sorry that you are finding life so difficult ATM, I hope that once you are actually on holiday the anxiety will ease off. Your meal plan for today sounds both very healthy, good for SW plan and also really tasty. The run seemed to be just what was needed too. Take care of you. x
@joedenise your supper is exactly how we start the day, 3/4 fruits not always all speed, but most of them, then yogurt and Skyr - I have both in the hope that they offer the most variety in good bacteria to help with my IBS.
Fingers crossed for all who are expecting to WI this week.
@maman well done on keeping the Syns in check, hopefully there will be some chicken drumsticks, sausages, bits of cheese rather than all bready/pastry stuff, I always grab as much of the salad garnish and pickles as is decent too.
This morning's scales showed a gain of a whole 4 ounces. WI tomorrow is a taster session, first one I will have been to, unless I make some weeny crustless quiches in silicon cupcake cases I don't have a clue what to take and don't want to have to go shopping beforehand. I have a lot of home stuff to do this week and can't really spare the time. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
@maddiemay - if you don't have time to make anything but don't worry just go to group as normal. It's not compulsory to make something. If you really want to take something could you stop off on the way and buy a box of strawberries or grapes to take.0
