I tend to make my meatballs on a Sunday when the joint is cooking @joedenise. They seem quite forgiving to various oven temperatures.
I don't have any other sort of oven anyway but definitely planning to buy an air fryer.0 -
Afternoon all .
Thanks Ruby, hope everything goes as well as it can and well done on your loss
Jelly it was me that asked about holiday 😁 i am sure you will enjoy just the break even if you wasn't doing anything .
Coxy hope your Dad is ok .
Lovely day here too, been over to see Mum.
Does anyone know anything about employment law? I know i can google but i get all flustered 😂 My sister that had the breakdown, well she had another relapse a couple of months ago although she had now been back at work a few weeks.
She rang my mum this morning and said they had finished her because she had had 76 days off sick this year, she had a sicknote from the crisis team and her doctor.
She has worked for them for 21 years!! I said they can't just finish her, am i correct?
Apparently they are paying her this month and next month and that is it !!Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -
@bubbs - here's the relevant stuff:
Check if your employer carried out a reasonable investigation of your condition
Your employer should:
warn you that they might dismiss you
show you copies of any medical evidence
give you a chance to respond to any medical evidence and their assessment of the situation
Your employer should also look into your medical condition to try to work out if and when you’ll be able to work again before they dismiss you. They should:
check how long you were off work and if they have an accurate record of your sick leave
get information about your medical condition
check what any medical evidence says about your condition, including your ability to do alternative work or when you might return to work
check if you’re due to have any further treatment that might improve your chance of returning to work
It’s more likely to be reasonable for your employer to justify dismissing you if you’ll be absent for a long time or won’t be able to go back to work at all.
Have they given her any warning that they might do this? If not then they might've fallen foul of the law. Tell her to contact Citizens Advice in the first instance.
A lot really depends on what has happened previously so I think a call to CAB is the first step in finding out whether it is reasonable or not.
Sorry it's not better news for her.

I'm sorry @bubbs I don't know the answers re: your DSis but very poor 'support' from her employer. She should at least have the option of retirement on grounds of ill health but that would follow an extensive period of occupational health assessments and adjustments if necessary. Sorry I'm not more help, just basing this on my own DSis and her breakdown after the loss of nephew.
DDad and DSis went to the walk in clinic in Faversham. No infection in urine but medic said probably prostate - he doesn't have one though as it was removed 20 years ago?? We are taking him to a private urologist at KIMS Maidstone tomorrow morning. I will meet them there and relieve DSis who has had a gutful of hospitals recently having pulled two all-nighters with DNephew with glandular fever!
I have stuck to food plan today despite the worry, so counting that as a winLooking forward to oven-baked risotto later mmmmmmm

Thanaks both, that's what Mum said to her she needs to go CAB , no, no warnings or anything. I said this might trigger her off again now 😪

Hopefully you'll get some answers at KIMS @Coxy11. It's a good hospital, have used it myself previously when I did my shoulder a couple of years ago as couldn't get hold of Benenden at the time.
@bubbs - your sister needs to call CAB as don't think they do walk ins any more like they used to and always very busy. If she can't get an appointment can she afford to get a solicitor? Maybe even be able to get a free half hour with one.0 -
Sorry to hear that @bubbs. I'd suggest your sister looks out (or asks HR at work) for a copy of her contract of employment. I'd be very surprised if it said it could be terminated just because of the number of sick days without any procedure like a meeting to discuss or information from a doctor. In any event, CAB won't be able to help unless they know what's in her contract. I don't suppose she's a member of a union? 🤔
At least prostate is ruled out @Coxy11. You're doing the right thing to get an appointment.0 -
The thing is i bet she won't remember even if she had one, no not a member of a union. It was a day centre she worked at and not sounding awful she won't be able to sort this herselfSealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0
