    Morning all,

It's dry and sunny whoohoo! After the rain of biblical proportions yesterday it makes a welcome change. I have been for a run - same short route as Friday and managed to keep going the whole way again and beat my previous time. I am going to build up to a longer route over the next few weeks.

Well done @Jellybaby on your loss, that's great xx

We will do a little gardening today and I need to pop to the high street for shampoo and some storage jars. So expensive in Ts so I will pop to Savers and B&M.

    Food will be:
B - weetabix choc melts, strawberries, blueberries, mullerlight vanilla - HEB, S, 0.5
L - LO bifyani veg rice - free
D - harissa meatballs with orzo from the latest mag - free
    HEA - milk
Syns - hi fi bar 3 plus 0.5 so 3.5 total

Morning all, like @Coxy11 it's bright and very windy here this morning so have got a machine load of washing on the line in the hopes that it will be dry by lunchtime when it's forecast to rain yet again!

Need to pop out later to get some more fruit and only got a few grapes and one easy peeler left so won't go far between 2 of us!

Well done @Jellybaby on your loss, a loss is a loss and those halves do mount up - it's how I got to target all those years ago.  Just wish I could get the motivation to stick to plan at the moment.  Today is looking to be the first day since WI on Wednesday that will be low syn!

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up - P; S; F; 2
    L - burger, onions & gherkins in WM roll - HEB; S; 0.5
D - braised lamb with butterbeans - HEA2; P; S (new recipe from my very old pressure cooker recipe book!)

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - parmasan
    HEB - WM roll
Syns - LF sausages 2; LF burger 0.5

    Have a good day everyone.

I had cheese and ham egg wraps, tomato and fruit.

The pressure cooked braised lamb dish was a lovely flavour but a bit fatty so needed to cut loads off.  There's enough left for another meal but it needs some more lamb stock in it as there's virtually none left!  Haven't got any more lamb stock pots so need to buy some when I go shopping on Tuesday, assuming I can get some!  If not I'll add another red wine stock pot instead as I've got some of those.

Will make it again at some stage but think I might try a piece of brisket or pork shoulder depending on prices!  The lamb was so expensive for just a couple of meals so unlikely to make it again with lamb.

Shame about the weather where you are @bubbs; it's been dry here virtually all day.  We had a short shower about an hour ago just as DD1 was leaving to go and pick her partner up from work, typical but it was lovely to see her.

It's stayed dry for most of the day here until forecast shower at 3pm . Fortunately dashed out and grabbed the washing in. I cleared the basket and changed the beds! 👍

Which cut of lamb did you use for the recipe @joedenise? Most of the similar recipes I've seen online used shanks but I did see one with cubes. 🤔

My DH is the same @bubbs. He eats SW happily but then eats biscuits and cakes and loads of bread things in between. ☹️

Well done on the running @Coxy11. How long before your dad goes back to Cyprus?

I portioned up the chilli for the freezer and kept some out for lunch. Also did swede and carrot mash but only 3 meals as small (but YS 😁) swede.

    Today's EE plan -
B- HEB toast, HEA milk, bacon, eggs (P)
    L- JP (F), veggie chilli (P, S), cottage cheese (P), beetroot (S)
    D- chicken roast (P, F, S)
    Syns - gravy 4, weekend wine 😁

It was a shoulder @maman as that was what the recipe said and as a new recipe decided to go with it.  DH cut off a lot of the fat before I cooked it and once cooked the fat had separated from the meat so easy to take it off!  Shanks would probably work but the tiny ones at the butcher (only big enough to feed one person!) were £6 each so worked out dearer than buying a shoulder.  I tend to buy the ready cooked shanks from Iceland when we have them as they only take 12 minutes in the microwave so save on electric and you get loads of gravy with them and only 3.5 syns each (the chilled ones not frozen).

I think all our DHs are the same with eating SW meals but then eating loads of junk in between - apart from 3 meals today DH has eaten 2 steak pies, a chocolate caramel wafer biscuit and goodness only knows how many Biscoff biscuits!  Think he's also had a cheese sandwich as well.  Goodness only knows how he doesn't put loads of weight on!

    🤣🤣🤣

I love lamb shoulder roasted but only as an occasional (when I'm well in target range 😉) treat as, you're right, it's very fatty.

I used to buy shanks but now it's only a rare thing when they're YS.

It's not so much that I haven't got the money but it feels such a rip off. I know about energy prices and the like but I do think there's some profiteering going on. ☹️

Our DW played up during lockdown @bubbs. DH said he enjoyed us washing up together but the novelty soon wore off! 🤣 I did hand-wash a bit this evening as the SC pot was filling up the DW.

Denise, blimey even if i ate all your DH has eaten today i would explode and you know i can eat 🤣

I made the doughnuts but they look really dark today, i said if we have them tomorrow i'll make them from oats as they are not as dark as wheat bran.
