    Morning all

off to drop dd a her dsis's - have had to wake her up in advance as she has my spare key to her flat for some reason. exoh will pick her up later - yes will wonders never cease - Mr Sharing Caring volunteered to "babysit" his own sick daughter.

dd very depressed at all the xmas stuff she's missing at school and after school club - and so am I - some of it cost a fortune and I've already paid. I know there was a waiting list for tonight's panto and have offered my ticket free to whoever wants it so someone will get lucky :)

Thanks Charlies Mum, for reminding me that it will start getting lighter from Saturday, it will be a while before it gets light at 5, but at least it's going in the right direction.
I left the 'Do' at 11 last night it took me half an hour to get home & it's only 10 mins down the road, but it took ages to scrape the frost of the car.
Todays plans are to wait for the lodger to wake up, then see if she wants to go to Reading with me as I'm going on the Park & Ride. I'm going to spend my M&S vouchers on a belt for my DS4 for Christmas & then spend the rest on socks, underwear & maybe a pair of black trousers if they have any in my size, I have £88 of vouchers. While I'm waiting for the lodger I'm going to blitz the kitchen & clear up all the mess from her cake making & start making my own mess.
PP I hope it all goes well for you, fingers are crossed.
    Hugs Hester

  • Morning Guys!!

I will be fine:D....TBH, I will feel loads better when they start me on some suitable treatment. Due to a blood condition and other medical issues, I cant just have a blood transfusion like most other patients would as this would probably cause my death and obviously dont want that...it would be much easier if I could have a blood transfusion though.

Anyway, Im trying to not be so negative today.

WM is on and will be on another 2 times after.

Hope everyone is well and ok.

    Hugs

  • Morning everyone,

Have got up early so I can continue with the clean up before DH breaks up tomorrow. Want it lovely so we can enjoy relaxing over the next 10 days or so. Can't wait. :j

Mum's dropping huge hints about going shopping again. <sigh> Love her to bits but, boy she's painful to go shopping with, particuarly this time of year. She looks at everything, and I mean everything, then will call me across the packed shop, beckoning urgently, only to tell me that she once had one of the held items years ago. She looks so pleased with herself you can't be mad. :wall: She is so like the nanna in the Royale family, it's unbelievable.

Knees are bad at the moment so I've had to get my stick out to walk with again. Must definitely join the OS weight loss thread in the new year as I'm sitting here on my third cup of tea with a slice of pork pie for my breakfast. I have no business feeling as happy with myself as I do, but its gorgeous and it was reduced! January I WILL get healthy. ;)

Hugs to all those poorly and in pain, especially Mrs Mix and Penpin. Enjoy your day everyone.

Hi Everyone and big:grouphug: 's all round today

There are many poorlies, and children poorlies, not a nice time of year for it.

Help needed, Snooker Table didn't move and is in too good condition to skip it, gong to offer it to dniece who has two boys, but dont think she has the room. If that fails how do I get in touch with someone at social services to see if they can find it a home? I would rather it go to someone who is not having a good Xmas otherwise than bin it.

DH going to tip today with cupboards w/tops which have not gone on freecycle, such a waste but I have tried hard, at least dnephew had top cupboards for his garage.

DH stressed out, but that is quite normal for anything outside of the norm, so I just ignore him.

3/4's way down ironing mountain, TD still not fixed, so washing building up. Must ring them at 9.

Don't do too much those not 100%.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • Good Morning All

Mrs-Mix enjoy your sofa when it comes
Tru - please dont mention ironing I have a mountain again
DLB - DS missed his last day of school - at least they are getting their illness' out of the way before the big day.
    ((((PP))))

Very cold and frosty here today but I dont mind that. Britsh Gas man should be turning up anyminute to fit a new heater exchange in the boiler which will apparantly take 4 -5 hours. Will build a log fire in a mo as we will definately need it today.

Wont be too much of a problem for me as I am off to the hairdressers for a cut and colour. This hairdresser is much cheaper than my old one and altho is not stricly os I just cant colour my hair at home. Will take them a card and some choccys too.

Have done all my posting cards as today is the last posting day. However received some mail yesterday and its now definate that we have missed at least 1 days mail. Looks like OH has missed his scan appointment as it should have been sent through by now - the local docs are on to it and will get back to me today. Worried though as we run 2 business from home and hope there is nothing else important in the mail.

Once home from the hairdressers will be ironing. Will try and get the neighbours cards done so they can be delivered at the weekend. All wrapping is now done, just havnt been able to do the wii as the kids are always about.

Not sure what is for dinner tonight, may get some pork chops out of the freezer.

    Have a great day.

DONNY-GAL - even if you end up taking the snooker table to the tip, someone will end up with it. They don't usually bin anything that's worth keeping! We bought a lovely chest of drawers from our local tip recently (DH loves it there!). It cost £20 but, now that he's restored it, it's worth a lot more. They would probably sell the snooker table so at least it will find a home!

PENPIN - so glad they didn't keep you in! It will be lovely once they've got your medication worked out for you. My sister has recently been diagnosed with osteoarthritis and they are still at the experimental stage with her treatment. She now wears 4 pain patches which all have to go on at different times but, the last time I saw her, they had had a remarkable effect. Good luck to you and hope you have as pain-free a Christmas as possible.

STEFEJIB - your poor DD - it must be devastating to have to miss all the end of term Christmas activities but at least she will be better for Christmas day itself.

Well, the BM is on and I'm just going to put a load in the WM. Then I shall make some phone calls after 9 o'clock and sort out some paperwork. I'll definitely have to go out now - I thought I had some mince in the freezer for tonight's spag bol but it's not there and I can't be bothered to think about what else to cook. I need some milk, anyway, so I will brave the icy roads in about an hour.

Well, better go and get on with something.

    See ya.

DG, where abouts are you ? there are probably childrens homes and drop in centres that would love the snooker table, I may be able to have a look at work later, we work with lots of charities, that might like it xx

Just taken DD to the station, and it was -5 in the car  , just one more day of these early mornings.

r-r - Doncaster is nearest, though Pontefract and Goole not that far either.

btw Like your idea for the wine!

tru - Thanks! My favourite is Away in a Manger sung by under 7's with only a piano or even no musical accompanyment, doesn't have to be perfect, probably even better if it is not. As an ex-Sunday School Teacher (many years ago) it can bring me to tears, which is very rare.

dlb - I have to sort out anything electrical at our house, show DH then he uses it!
