Clearing my debt after 25 years

So sorry I have not updated in ages! Life is so busy at the moment and everything just gets in the way, so today we had our pet insurance claim accepted £860 is on its way to our account so my advice is always appeal because it sometimes does work, they said they declined the original claim in error!
I feel like all I have done lately is spend money, youngest is 17 on Friday so bought her presents ready and booked for a block of driving lessons £270, have sent middle daughter money for shopping until she gets paid, at least she does have the one day a week wage once it starts coming through to be paid.
we bought some bits for the new house, plates bowls and cutlery, duvet set for us, lamps, mugs, all not totally necessary but all our kitchen stuff is chipped and doesn’t match so I binned it before we moved so bit of luxury to look forward to.
now the Xmas shopping has already started and I’ve got a few bits so far, I will be very strict this year with sticking to the spend, I save all year for it so nothing will go on debt.
Hopefully back on track now and can start getting the house savings built up as times ticking on and it does look likely we will have our keys in December.
have a good evening everyone I’m looking forward to watching My Mum your Dad and then reading my kindle before being back in work tomorrow 😊

They will do anything to try and not payout. My dog was diagnosed with a grass pollen allergy a few years ago, went through tests and ended up on tablets costing £60 a week and they said as she had been to the vets as a pup with digestive problems we already knew about her allergies so they couldn't pay up!! I didn't bother fighting them (wish I did now) but luckily a different vet told us that all she had been prescribed was Piriton and to just buy that instead. Saved us a fortune!0

I know @beanielou I’m loving My Mum your Dad I’m hooked!@outoftheviciouscircle it makes all the difference to get good vet who will tell you the truth on how to save money, I’m still really unimpressed with the pet insurance if I didn’t challenge it we would be down £860.
so today work has been a bit crap, lost a sale while always makes us sad, couple of small issues including a smoke alarm going mad in an empty house I just had to drive home with it in the car to get a screw driver to open the battery compartment to get the battery out so now I have a banging headache!
£2.63 cashed out of top cash back and a no spend day which I need at the moment! So happy about that.
I think I need a bigger car with a set of steps and a tool kit in but that’s not really in the budget at the moment!Pay off debt by Xmas 2023 #23My debt free diary https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6436651/clearing-my-debt-after-25-years#latest

Sorry it’s been absolutely ages since I have updated my diary, life just seems to keep getting in the way! Pay day last week so topped up the car account with £100, birthday account with £50 and the misc account with £50 and transferred £1000 to the house fund.
my husband started a new job on Monday after 15 years in his previous job this has been a bit of an anxious time, I’m not to good with change, he seems to be enjoying it but the opportunity for overtime is less and the pay is less an hour but the working conditions are better and hopefully he won’t be so tired as working 8 12 hour days driving before a day off.
I’ve come to a brick wall with my job this week and just am not really enjoying it, I’m hoping to give my head a shake 🫨 and hopefully feel better it’s maybe just a blip, I really miss the children when I was at the school 🏫 I’ll give it a bit longer but may have to start forming a new life plan.
DH gets paid tomorrow and hopefully pay off the small balance I have run up on the cc buying bits for the house

on the house front the people who we are buying from their new extension which is a lounge and then a very large 3 width garage is having its roof put on this week and then they can get the floor in and start doing the inside so moving along quite well we are hoping for keys for Xmas 🎅Pay off debt by Xmas 2023 #23My debt free diary https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6436651/clearing-my-debt-after-25-years#latest

Thanks @beanielou it still feels like it’s never going to happen, i won’t believe it till those keys are in my hand!
cashed out of TopCashback and paid straight to cc1 for house bits I’ve bought £25.99 paid so only about £12 to go although will probably buy something else soon, I don’t like to pull money from house savings so would rather buy a few bits with our weekly money when we canPay off debt by Xmas 2023 #23My debt free diary https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6436651/clearing-my-debt-after-25-years#latest

Are you still living with your parents? Hows that going?
Sorry to hear you are losing the passion for your job, maybe its because you have other things on your mind. Perhaps when the house goes through and you have one less thing to worry about it may come back.
